Figured he probably deserves a thread at this point (I searched and didn't see a thread - if there is one, feel free to merge this). Son of Devils and Czech legend Petr Sykora (one of my favorite players from that era!). Profiles as a speedy, dangerous scorer like his dad - albeit almost certainly not at that level. He's 6'-0" tall like his dad but Petr was really strong on his skates so there's definitely room for Nicolas to fill out and be pretty stout.

Central Scouting has him #77 among North American skaters which likely puts him in contention for a 4th round type selection, if we use that as a guide. His overall production in the USHL looks good but not great - but a closer look and since getting dealt to Sioux City he's sitting right near a PPG pace which is very good production and puts him in range of guys like John Mustard and Brodie Ziemer last year - and they both got selected in the 3rd round. Did not watch the Hlinka but appears to have acquitted himself quite well.

He's committed to Quinnipiac - EP lists for fall '26 but if he keeps up this production, I think we may seem him on campus next fall along with another USHL scoring star and 2007-born forward, Ethan Wyttenbach.

His bloodlines won't hurt his chances at getting drafted - guessing in that rounds 3-5 range based purely on his profile and rising stock & performance.

@Pavel Buchnevich have you seen him at all lately? Any thoughts?

He’s trending up huge in my view - I think he goes second round . He look great in USA all star game and he’s scoring at great pace at Sioux for not a ton of ice time ( seen like 4 games ). His shot might be one of best in the draft .
