1 G, 3A tonight, plays on Geekie's line. That Ice team is so dominant. Anyone see if he has NHL potential?

Leading the league in scoring now.

He wasn't drafted last year so it will be an uphill battle.

He is a skilled guy surrounded by a ton of talent, sometimes those guy make it, most of the time they can play with the stars on their team but the jump to the NHL is too great.

Odds are against him but time will tell.

Connor McClennon might have a better elite skill and even he is a longshot.

fair, but I think a lot of players (especially in the OHL and WHL) need to be evaluated differently due to the extreme circumstances last year. Like I don’t think you can look at these situations the same as in the past. Milne for example is likely a guy that really got hurt by the pandemic. With his forechecking ability and skating, he probably should have been drafted last year. Really interested to see if and where he gets picked.

he plays with Geekie and Smallwood (20 yo) on the “shutdown” line for the ice that plays the best lines of the opponents and he drives the bus on it

I can see him getting drafted in the later rounds. His production is not that great for an 02' on an elite team (even one born in the latter half), but I think you are looking at a guy who is a lot like Ryan Dzingel.

Strong defensive forward. Maybe can have a few productive seasons in his prime if he gets the opportunity to do so but will mostly carve out a decent career as a hard working, shutdown bottom 6er who specializes in his own end but can still put up 25-30 ES points a year.

I have to say every time I've watched him play this year his effort level and motor have been off the charts. He's also built solid for a shorter guy and skates well. I think he might have enough skill to play a complementary role in a top 6 but is probably better suited to a 3rd line in the NHL. I see a lot of Connor Brown in his game and would be pretty happy if my team took him anywhere after the 2nd round. If he keeps up the effort level I've seen him play with I think he's a pretty sure bet to make it to NHL in some capacity. Coaches will love him.

Let's be real, if youre team picked him up in the 5-7th round last year, chances are you'd be very happy with the selection this year. I think you are right concerning OHL/WHL and even the Q and some USHL/NCAA divison to a lesser extent.

I dont think he has the attributes to become an effective scorer at the NHL level, but you also need depth in th ahl, etc. Skating is not bad, you never know. If he makes it he could be something like a Lehkonen or Connor Brown as some other poster suggested. I'd take him the the lat 3rd round or 4th round.

Wouldn't be upset if the Habs took a flyer on him in the later rounds with all the draft picks they've accumulated

Just scored his 6th of the playoffs, along with 2 assists.

His playoff performance might bump him up a few spots, but he's still a mid rounder.

Milne is the type of player that the Canucks needs to have a good scouting report on from his u17 year all the way to this season. He played his minor hockey in BC and we really have no excuse for missing on players from our own backyard. especially in the later rounds.

I really think this will be a key to success for us going forward. Back to Mikey what the scouting report on him?

This isn't just about him but some interesting discussion about alot of players for this draft.

Stocky forward who works incredibly hard all over the ice. Of the 50+ draft eligible players I've watched games of this year, he's the guy that sticks out as having the highest motor. Always in on the forecheck stripping pucks from defenders and somehow always the first forward back on defense picking up the third man.

Good skater but probably average at the NHL level. I think he possesses enough offensive instincts and puck skills to play a complementary role in a top 6 but I think will ultimately wind up in a middle 6 checking role/first PK type player.

Think Connor Brown/Zach Hyman. Guys who possess some skill but have largely carved out careers by simply outworking everyone.

I've liked what I've seen from him. Hard-working with a surprising amount of skill. Definitely deserves to be drafted.
