The facts are Hawks as a team are 7th worst in shooting % at 9.3%..Bedard is below the Hawks average as a team.. Hevis only shooting 7.8%...

But ALSO Hawksxarex7th worst in shotscon goal in the NHL.

You can get good offense by being leaders in shots on goal but a low shooting% ..or you can be a hogh % shooter team with low shots on goal ..But when you stink at BOTH combined Then your offebse is hoingvtovstink.

That was LR's SIN...could neither get it up inshotsvon goal OR in shoiting %..

TB is worse than the Hawks in shotscongoal...theyxare 3rd worst inthe NHL in that stat..But they are shooting the lights out amongst thectop leaders in shooting % at 13.1%...which makes it unnecessary to fire that many shots on goal..whe you shoot you scorexalot more than Hawks can even with less shotsvongoal!

Since LR could not upgrade either shotsvon goal or shooting% from his team he gets canned.. simplecas that.
You have to get atvleast one of these categories off the bottom of the list.

The new coach has a ton of garbage wingers in the top nine to sort through.

Keep Smith Reichel Maroon together.

Donato isn't good. Dickinson and Foligno are decent third liners that play north south.

Kurashev, Hall, Anderson, Mikheyev all suck. Turbo and Bertuzzi are third wheel guys. Athanasiou is fun bad but he's bad. We're gonna suck. Just make sure the lines make some semblance of sense.

I work for the f***ing railroad and I saw Hall and Bedard being a terrible fit. It's inexcusable.

I wonder if he was initially hired to help develop our D men. As we all know, D take longer and I think if you're rebuilding you want a more experienced D core with younger forwards. He seemed to do alright with the young D?

Once we landed Bedard, you have to wonder if his time would have been up sooner than later regardless as the focus should shift towards building/coaching around Bedard’s strength - offense. Seems he didn’t come anywhere close to showing he could handle it.

I wonder how much leash KD has at this point because this dumpster fire has been taking place under his watch this entire time as well and he hasn't exactly been orchestrating a masterclass in general management.

Surprised but glad to see it happen now. Was he given bum talent to work with? Yeah, but literally every player they acquired during his tenure, even guys with proven NHL track records, turned into a f***ing pumpkin under his watch. Will it be significantly better under Sorenson? I doubt it, but you have to try something.

Not going to miss LuRich at all. Like a lot of you here, I'm surprised that they named Sorenson interim head coach as I'd have thought they'd want to keep continuity and stability in Rockford moving forward. I don't really think Sorenson is the answer long-term here but I do think he could have been a decent candidate with a few more years seasoning in the AHL.

To the Davidson critics, what is is that you want from him?

He finally made the choice to actively rebuild, after Bowman waddling in and out and around the problem for years. Then, by a stroke of luck, they won the Bedard lottery after their *first* season tanking. We're literally in year 3 of the rebuild folks. None of the players Davidson's drafted outside of Bedard have even arrived in the NHL yet (I'm not counting Korchinski last year). He's accumulated a ton of young players and draft picks. He went out this summer and brought in a lot more NHL talent -- a summer, I think, by and large, people were happy with at the time. Richardson simply doesn't have the intelligence to get the most of this roster. And it's not like it is an amazing roster because it isn't. The Hawks were always going to be bad again this year. But they shouldn't be almost as bad as a year ago. That was the problem. Richardson couldn't do anything strategically or structurally to get more offense out of a group that should be scoring more than they were.

Goodbye and good riddance! Any coach who thinks it's a good idea to put Hall and Bertuzzi with Bedard should not be a head coach. And to see Bedard going to the front of the net and Bertuzzi is off to the side shows he has no control over his players.

Playing Korchinski in the NHL last year was a huge mistake to make. Can’t make that with a top 10 pick.

I haven’t liked their draft strategy. A lot of the other teams in the league with history of being good drafters do the exact opposite. Trading up constantly.

I mean other than signing Vlasic to a sweet contract what has he done? His grade is incomplete.

What's the exact opposite of their strategy, exactly?

Keeping Korchinski up all year was definitely a mistake. I've been one of the biggest critics of that move.

We're in the tanking phase of the rebuild. What should he have done?

I’m going to take credit for this firing since I made the thread to fire Luke over a year ago and have been actively bitching about him not knowing what the hell he’s doing.

In all seriousness, you couldn’t let this continue. Sorensen I like, he’s done a good job with development in Rockford, which is what the Hawks should be. Hopefully Eaton doesn’t change anything up down there.
