Not sure about any of you, but I am LOVING all the whining about the lottery being rigged and all the tin foil hat conspiracty theorists. Not just here, but everywhere. I said on facebook on Sunday night, it would happen if the Rangers, Leafs, Oilers, or Pens won it. And, how if it was Winnipeg, Nashville, Florida, or Minnesota, the complaining would be about how he will be buried in a small market, and nobody will know who he is, and the NHL is terrible at marketing their stars. Was also reading a long exchange somewhere about how the Rangers always "get breaks". Even went as far back as being able to bury Redden. All I could think about is how enjoyable the meltdowns will be IF Lundqvist retires before the season starts and the Rangers get all that cap space back. Note: this is NOT me saying I want him to retire.

Have not picked 1st overall since the 3rd NHL draft. A draft so bad that Toronto didn’t bother attending. Our 1OA didn’t play an NHL game. The draft had 11 picks total in it.

this wasn’t f***ing rigged. If the NHL was going to ratscrew the league for us, it would have happened by now considering we’ve been around longer than most of them.

1. We didn’t tank for #1 like some teams do/did

2. We’ve never had 1OA

3. We were doing so well before the Covid pause and were on track to make the playoffs (a 5 game series to determine who makes the playoffs after such a long break is kinda bs, and though I understand there weren’t many better options, we still got kinda screwed)

4. We played hard every night prior to the pause, so we deserve it

So yea, even if it IS rigged, they did it for a team that deserved it. That being said, it’s not rigged and these conspiracy theories are getting so stupid. You would think that listening to the fans and doing the lottery live would stop the “it’s rigged” accusations, but no. They got worse.

we've complained for 15 years about how the nhl rigged the draft to give the penguins crosby (instead of rigging it to give him to us lol) and trust me pens fans could careless
