Starting this poll early since I'm not feeling well, and Grundstrom has a pretty significant lead with less than four hours to go. I also have questionable Internet accessibility.

Added to this poll: Jacob Moverare, D

#1 - Alex Turcotte, F, 59.1%
#2 - Gabriel Vilardi, F, 53.6% (tie-breaker)
#3 - Rasmus Kupari, F, 46.4% (tie-breaker)
#4 - Cal Petersen, G, 28.9%
#5 - Arthur Kaliyev, F, 33.3%
#6 - Jaret Anderson-Dolan, F, 44%
#7 - Michael Anderson, D, 32.8%
#8 - Tobias Bjornfot, D, 35.3%
#9 - Carl Grundstrom, 50%

Vote for one player, and post who you want to add to the next poll.

Only players who are eligible for the 2020 Calder trophy (so no Wagner, Amadio, etc). Calder eligibility is defined as:
- No older than 26 years old as of September 15th, 2019 (so Prokhorkin just makes the cut, if you wish to vote him in)
- Has not played in more than 25 games in one season or more than 6 games in two consecutive seasons. (so Matt Roy, at 25 games, just makes the cut if you want to vote him in)

List of players eligible to be nominated:
Aidan Dudas, F
Alexander Dergachyov, F
Andre Lee, F
Blake Lizotte, F
Bokondji Imama, F
Brad Morrison, F
Braden Doyle, D
Bulat Shafigullin, F
Chaz Reddekopp, D
Cole Hults, D
Cole Kehler, G
Daniel Brickley, D
Drake Rymsha, F
Jacob Ingham, G
Kim Nousiainen, D
Lukas Parik, G
Matt Villalta, G
Mikey Eyssimont, F
Sheldon Rempal, F

Add Dudas I guess. Its Clague. I'm being honest here, but I don't know why some people have soured on Clague. Now its fair that he has dropped in the rankings because of the influx of talent the last 3 drafts, but he's still one of our top prospects. He was making great strides towrds the end of the season last year and I do think he was in line to get called up if he didn't break his foot and I think he'll be the first defensemen called up this upcoming season.

Great options at #10. And the pool will get even deeper after next year's draft, as many of these guys aren't graduating this year.

Add Brickley.

To me, it's just an issue of prospects moving up more than him moving down. He's #10 on my list, but I voted for Thomas since he's higher on mine.

I voted Clague, but my list is different than this one.

1. Vilardi
2. Turcotte
3. Kupari
4. Anderson-Dolan
5. Kaliyev
6. Bjornfot
7. Anderson
8. Clague
9. Fagemo
10. Grundstrom
11. Petersen
12. Durzi
13. Thomas
14. Phillips
15. Sodergran

Fagemo for me here; went on a YouTube binge of his play recently and have a great feeling about him joining the team for the '20-'21 season.

To those asking about Thomas and Clague, I think they still have plenty of promise, but I'd be lying if I wasn't dimmed a bit on them both compared to other prospects given Clague's season last year and the reports that Thomas still shies away from high-traffic areas. I hope they both prove me wrong!

FWIW, I'm voting Clague next.

+ Doughty and Kopitar

Your 2022-23 LA KINGS!!

Just kidding, wonder which ones busts or gets traded though.

I'm surprised that Prokhorkin isn't getting that much love. He's the only one of the remaining names that has proven himself at a Pro level and also is the only one that's actually all but guaranteed a spot with the Kings next year. May not have the highest upside, but at this point in the rankings the guy who is the "surest thing" should have a lot of value.

I'll speak for myself on this, while I respect the parameters given, I don't consider someone who has played over 300 games in one of the best non-NHL leagues a prospect for the purpose of creating a Top 20 or whatever list.

I think people just have different criteria, and it has become a bit of a grudge match with different tiers.

Heck, Petersen, Grundstrom, and Roy have played the most NHL games and have had good success, and they were still voted 4th, 9th, and unvoted so far.

Not that I feel that NHL achievement should be the lone variable, but people place value in different things.

As @KopitarFAN wrote, he doesn't really consider Prokhorkin a prospect, which I understand. My gut instinct is he wouldn't have qualified for this list, but he missed the cutoff by two days. Trying to think of some other reason not to include him aside from my own mind would be pretty arbitrary, though.

Others don't consider Vilardi a prospect and chose not to vote for him, until we hear news that he can actually play hockey.

Prokhorkin has a decent resume which includes an Olympic Gold medal, but he has also been middling quite a bit in the KHL for many years, and hasn't had the hype that other players (such as Gusev, Panarin, etc) had in the KHL. His international resume is also not very remarkable, considering the years experience he has over other prospects.

I understand that point of view and don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other of whether he should be considered a prospect or not. I'm just considering and voting on the choice of names that are listed in this poll and he's on there so I don't know that we can just ignore him.

Its thinking like this is why i have a problem with this type of poll people need to go by the op choice of who is allow on the post not by personal opinion. If hes on the poll hes a option simple as that Not im not voting him cause he isnt what i consider a prospect. Prohorkin is on the poll simple as that he should be a consideration period.

Maybe some of this is my fault for calling it a prospect poll and saying the criteria for prospect is "If he played in the NHL this season, is he eligible for the Calder trophy?"

But then if I made it a top rookie poll, people could point out all NCAA players won't play pro, so how are they a rookie? Lol.

Ultimately, people will vote how they want and I understand. Again, I was ready to remove Prokhorkin myself, but I had no reason to justify it. So he's still on my list (I would need to check, but I think he's around 14th on my list out of 40).
