The Caps and Jets played 7 mins 30 seconds before the first whistle. What's the longest stretch without a stoppage to start a game?

I remember a Leafs game some 5-6 years back where they started with 13-14 minutes or something like that. Dont know if that is the record though

I cant find any record of it but I remember watching a game between the Boston Bruins vs the Atlanta Thrashers in the early 2000's where they played almost the entire first period without a stop in play. If anyone can help confirm this it would be greatly appreciated.

I remember this being on the thrasher's list of moments to be remembered!

Youtube didn't exist and google video wasn't all that great so I went back to that list all the time to see Nurminen's donkey save.

I want to say there was a Flames-Oilers game from around 2008 where the first whistle didn't happen until the 10 minute mark of the period.
