2006 Rematch... This time Petes have no "Shantz".
Do not take Petes lightly or it'll be nights out, they knocked out the 67's, the Wolves and the Battalion. They do have star players with stingy defence and a great goal tender. Knights play like they did against Sarnia they'll win in 5, if they don't it's good buy "M" cup, they must still play the team game through out this final to acheive series victory "Go Knights Go"

Knights’ Ryan Winterton named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

LONDON KNIGHTS PLAYER OF THE WEEK RYAN WINTERTON
Toronto, Ont. – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Seattle Kraken prospect Ryan Winterton of the London Knights is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, posting five goals, one assist and six points in four games along with a plus/minus rating of plus-5.

Helping London skate to a 4-2 series win over the Sarnia Sting to capture the Wayne Gretzky Trophy as Western Conference champions last week, Winterton started things with a goal in a 5-2 road loss on Tuesday night. He went on to record another goal the following night as the Knights fell 6-3. Helping London rebound back at home on Friday, the 6-foot-2, 190lb. forward recorded a pair of goals in the 5-2 victory. Winterton closed out the series with a goal and an assist on Sunday, stretching his current point streak to eight games as the Knights punched their ticket to the OHL Championship Series with a 5-1 win over the Sting.

A 19-year-old from Whitby, Ont., Winterton recorded 12 goals, 24 assists and 36 points in 34 games this season. He’s produced 105 points (44-61–105) over 124 career OHL regular season games between London and Hamilton since being selected by the Bulldogs with the eighth overall pick of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. He’s currently produced 10 points (6-4–10) over 12 games in the 2023 OHL Playoffs. Winterton was selected in the third round (67th overall) by the Seattle Kraken in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Also considered for the award this week, Knights teammate and 2023 NHL Draft eligible Denver Barkey was productive, recording three goals and three assists in four games, while Anaheim Ducks prospect Sasha Pastujov of the Sarnia Sting had eight points (2-6–8) in four outings.

Tried to give my single away free for 5/6 games this POs on here. Not even an inquiry. Luckily I was able to give it away to get someone in the arena thru different channels.
Also lower bowl aisle seat, right at stairs. Single seats are tough.

And yet they fought back against NB to force Game 7. Never underestimate your opponent.

This is a team with equivalent talent to Sarnia, but these guys are motivated.

The Petes have had by far the hardest road to get to the OHL final by any team . They upset Ottawa in the 2nd Round the OHL Regular Season Champion , Beating North Bay coming back from 3-2 down and breaking down there structure and exploiting there weaknesses was not easy to do and they get two full days rest to regroup .

And a team with as much fire power as they do with Othmann, Beck , Lockhart , Hayes , Robertson , Avon , Stillman etc, A solid defensive unit and goaltending they really have come together in these playoffs and are a force to be reckoned with . I am not ruling them out

The Knights are mighty and I used to be a season ticket holder myself before I moved to Vancouver to embark on a new life and They are deadly .

But this series won’t be as easy as some may think . I’ve picked the Petes all playoffs to win the east and they have made it this far The Knights definitely have a shot to go to the Memorial Cup, they always do , they are the London Knights after all and I will never forget the 2016 Memorial Cup win .

This is going to be fun , may the best team win

The Petes play a defence first game. They have a balanced attack and are very disciplined and take few penalties. Michael Simpson has also played well. I expect the series to go seven games

So we could expect a few triple overtime games?
Overtime games are a definite possibility, and should they occur, I like the Knight's chances. My reasoning is this: Over the course of the season, the Knights did have their share of overtime games. The won more than their fair share of those, so there's an experience element. Also, the Petes have played more playoff games than the Knights, and every extra game drains some stamina reserves.

Ask players who are beginning to feel fatigued to play an extra period or 2, and they might be willing, but not necessarily able.

The more players involved in any game, the fatigue factor is lessened, and distributed. 3rd & 4th line players become more important as their playing time affords lines 1 & 2 some needed rest.

The Knights play a defence first game. They have a balanced attack and are pretty disciplined and take some penalities. Brochu and Bowen have played well. I agree, likely a seven game series. Should be a good one.

The only reason if this final goes to overtime is if the Knights have breaks in their team play. Both team have great speed good defence and goal tenders. I think London has more balance in their overall structure than the Petes, the trick for the Knights is to push Peterborough to their limit with constant speed keep up the high level of intensity on offence and on defence, they will buckle under pressure. Knights in 5 if not 4 if the whole team comes to play the team game

How are people saying the Pete’s are a defensive first team! I did not see it, they consistently get shelled! 52 shots in game 6, Simpson has been unreal but the Knights should break through.

Knights in 5 if not 4 if the whole team comes to play the team game are underestimating the Petes. They just won series against the top two teams in the league standings. They do not buckle under pressure. The Petes have plenty of speed up front and have the ability to shutdown the oppositions offence for long periods during a game.

The main reason they have won three previous three series is they have the ability to shutdown the oppositions offence for long periods during a game. They play a trap style and capitalize on the other teams mistakes. This series will go six or seven games.

Sounds like you watched one game. The only game in this playoffs that the Petes were not the dominant team. This will be a great series

I would have like to see Ottawa in the Western Conference just to see where they'd finish in the standing. If you don't mind I'll reserve any other Petes argument until after the final series is completed. Have a great series and Cheers !!

That was game 5 and it was the only game they got outplayed in the series. They rebounded in games 6 where they outshot North Bay 44-29 and in game 7 they outshot North Bay 27-24. In fact for in the final 10 minutes of the game North Bay barely could get a shot on goal. If Ottawa and North Bay could not break through I doubt London will.

I too will reserve judgment, but I did watch the last two games of the Ottawa series and the last two of the NB series. I did not see a great defensive team.

At times I saw a a well executed trap but there were many periodic defensive lapses clearing the zone and carry through the neutral zone. The X factor was the play of Simpson and the individual offensive efforts of the Petes veteran forwards.

Good team but I wouldn’t say they are defensively in the same category as the Knights. Star forwards and a great goalie will make this an interesting chess match but I’ll put my money on defence any day.

Let’s go!
