Agreed. I know it's always subjective. But I really liked the previous Coyotes logo with the howling head. Those looked amazing on that maroon colour.
Where as the new/old Kachina looks way too busy and awkward for me. I can't stand it.
This really is a contest between some of the worst in the league. Because that Duck foot is pathetic. Voted Coyotes.
That's interesting. I can see where you're coming from about the Kachina look being "busy", and generally i also hate overly busy logos/designs/uniforms. But when it comes to the Yotes look, i think you have to step back and take in the entire thing as an wholistic expression. Look at it like post-impressionist art. If you focus on every single dab or dash or colour in a Seurat painting or whatever, you'll have an aneurysm. But if you take it in more broadly in its entirety...it's actually a pretty "simple" image. Same goes for the Coyotes Kachina logo (and jersey) imo. You can't focus on any of the individual elements too closely. Just take it in as a complete unit of design.
Whereas the Howling Coyote logo to me,
especially on their maroon uniforms...was "busy" in a way that washed the entire thing out. All the little contour and pseudo-shading details never really registered for me at a distance. The overall uniform impression is just a big ol' blob of maroon and cream/tan.
Out of curiosity though...how do you feel about the Minnesota Wild logo? I ask because it's another one of those ones that's at a micro inspective level, kind of extremely "busy". But at a macro impression level, i think it really works and looks very nice. It has...layers of depth that make it work on multiple levels.
Alternatively, i'd be curious which you prefer between something like the Old vs New Jaguars NFL logo. Same general "concept"...but completely different styles of execution.
