I didn't see a thread for this, but I'm looking at the names on the big club and in the AHL as far d-men go. It almost looks like we could have a log jam coming up, with C. Miller, McAvoy, Carlo, Krug, Lauzon, O'Gara, Grzelcyk, K. Miller, and Zboril. It looks like we could trade one or two for some offensive forward prospects. Thoughts?

Definitely a little bit of a log jam but its a great problem to have. I personally think someone from the backend will be going to Vegas. I'm totally in the protect K.Miller crowd so I see C.Miller getting scooped up and rightfully so.

I see next year as:

Chara McAvoy
Krug Carlo
K.Miller McQuaid
O'Gara

I think big Rob O'Gara is ready to go. He was a beast for 4 years at yale and by all account had a great 1st pro year at Providence. It's time to get his feet wet at the NHL level. Let Lauzon and Zboril go through the same path, no need to rush them.

And injuries/slumps happen...between Joe Morrow and Liles, they played 53 games this year so you can presume OG will play half the year in that kind of role.

Lets not forget Lindgren. But Yes what a nice problem to have!

Ryan Lindgren going to be a beast

Lindgren-McAvoy eventually will be the preeminent pairing in hockey

Let's wait for guys to develop before declaring a log jam.

Right now, we have 3/6 of our future defence core. I wouldn't mind to trade some of these defence prospects for a guy who is 28-30 to be a bridge for while guys like Carlo and McAvoy fully develop.

There is certainly a possibility that there will be a point where there is a logjam, and the Bruins are forced to make a move.

Honestly I don't think any of the Bruins prospects (other than McAvoy) have the type of trade value that makes a deal happen that is really worth it. For example we'd need to package 3 of our top 10 (plus maybe more) to get into the ballpark for a Landeskog type player

For me I am more concerned about trading the wrong guy, and watching Zboril or Lauzon develop into a poor man's Roman Josi somewhere else, than I am worried about having a couple of these guys top out as AHL players

Amazing to think about when they're rolling with two NHL defensemen in the playoffs right now.

I think Morrow and Liles are both gone nest season and if C Miller is unprotected Vegas takes him, if not then McQuaid. As for the prospects not sure Arnesson ever makes it to the NHL and I am not a big fan of Grezlcyk, looks awful in his own end, so I could see him being dealt for a forward prospect or a draft pick, or possibly as a secondary piece added if they make a bigger trade.

You worry to much.;)

McAvoy isn't going anywhere. More than likely neither is Carlo but I could see Lauzon being the guy. Teams will be licking their chops at the Bruins depth on the back end and I feel he'll be the center of a package in a deal if there's one to be made.

That's a lot of D prospects - but you don't make a trade before you know which one of them is the best player. It's a mystery right now.

Lindgren vs Lauzon vs Zboril will be a battle for the ages. The incentive of 'if you work your butt off you get to partner Charlie McAvoy for the next 10 years' is a strong one - let's see who comes out on top.

Bruins need to package some older and b prospect players for younger speedier skilled players. Only forward keepers I see on this team are Bergeron Marchand Pasta.

log jams occur when it`s clear a team is carrying a bunch of players (D or otherwise) who have clearly shown they can play full time at the NHL level. While it sure looks like the cupboard is stocked with prospects, until they pull that Spoked B jersey over their head, they are just prospects.

I`m very excited/optimistic about the kids in the organization but that "log jam" hasn`t been reached yet
