I will make the intro short, seeing as there is little need to explain why the Habs need a Little (C) and Buff (top D).

What would WPG fans possibly want in return for these two players, obviously, assuming they are available. So, would be nice to spare the thread the `N/A` responses, or the `more than you want to pay` type answers.

So Little+Buff to Habs, what would it take ???

I know you said you don't want "more than you're willing to pay" or "not available" type answers, but what are you expecting when you want pieces that belong to a team that can't afford to lose them?

You want Byfuglien + Little? Give us a 1RD, 2C and parts to make up for us breaking up the roster.

We need those pieces.

Fair enough, I would think with the extra center you guys have, Little would be expendable and then it was a matter of finding a value for Buff.

Galchenyuk + Sergachev + something spicy (maybe)

I`d be ok to part with Sergachev+ 1st (if that's what u mean by spicy). Seeing as we need a 2C, it would make little sense to give Galchenyuk - but I respect that from your point of view

Where would Buff slot in? Right now we have Weber, Petry, and Pateryn as our 3 RHD. I would assume if we were to try to get Buff, we would have to trade Petry++ (Petry would have to waive his NMC as well). Our need is for someone to pair with Weber, a LHD not a RHD.

This is basically what it would cost in my opinion too.

And why exactly would Habs do this?

Considering Galchenyuk is a WAY better player then Bryan Little.

IMO

Plekanec
Sergachyev
McCarron
1st 2017 (not 2018)

Not giving more then that for a 2nd line C and a D we don't need as Byfuglien is not a better D then Weber is

I am sure as versatile as Buff is, he could swap to LD. At the very least for the powerplay. If that is the case, we can certainly tangle Petry for offensive help.
Therrien plays his pairs fairly evenly anyway.

I am quite curious what you would consider a realistic answer?

Little is the Jets' 1b Centre, excellent 2 way guy that puts up about 50 points a year. Byfuglien is a unique top pairing RHD that puts up about 50 points a year.

Galchenyuk + Sergachev + Price + Weber + Gallagher + Pacioretty, would that be enough?

Don't get pissy if you don't get the answer you like.

Did you expect: "Just give us a 1st round pick please HURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"

It's fair to ask what it would take to part with these players. But just be aware that you're asking for our #1D and who was our #1C until he got injured and Scheifele went on a tear. Most Jets fans still consider Little a legit #1C in the league (depending how you define it). He's been great since he got back. And we all love the idea of the Scheif/Little 1-2 punch down the middle. Little routinely is cited as "one of the most underrated players in the league" by both Jets fans and non-fans alike.

Many Jets fans feel like we're on the brink of becoming contenders, as soon as our gaggle of rookies and young players gel. We're not rebuilding - we're done rebuilding. Little and Buff are key parts of the equation moving forward.

So yeah, it's going to be expensive. Apologies for not actually answering your question with a specific trade. But I just wanted to put the ask in context.

Unless you're actually giving better players back (and why would you), the only thing that might tempt Jets fans are similar top players (but perhaps not yet as refined) who are closer to the age of our young core (early 20's).

Thats basically the jist of it. Give us prime peices for "stuff".

Galchenyuk+Sergachev+ would be a realistic ask.

The trade doesn't do a thing to honestly help Winnepeg. So yes, you're going to pay alot.

Who replaces Little if we trade him?

Petan?

He's not ready.

Lowry?

He's not good enough.

Wheeler?

That's an experiment that could completely backfire.

So now we need a #1B C.

Do we take back Plek? Why would we not just keep Little? Well we might as well upgrade and ask for your best center. Hmmm....there's a difference there in value. Well lets see what else is in the trade.

Then what do we need from Buff? Well we are assuming Trouba is going to stay so we can assume that Trouba - Myers will be our 1-2 on the right side. What do we need. We need defense. Morrissey has soothed our pain on the left side but once Enstrom is gone, who do we have.....nobody. Need a LD coming back. Someone expansion exempt. Come on down Sergachev.

Little << Gally
Sergachev << Buff

Don't ask for a teams #1D and #1B C if you don't feel like hearing about your favorite players moving to other teams.

Talk about fantasy.:help:

You can't seriously think that the Jets would be willing to trade 2 of their core pieces. Just not gonna happen. Don't like it? Neither do Jets fans.

Teams aren't in the league to be Montreal's welfare system of handouts.
