Don't think I'm the only one that thinks the forward lines need a major shakeup. Would love to see what other people would do for must win game 4.

Here's what I would do:

Kerfoot - O'Reilly - Jarnkrok
Tavares - Matthews - Marner
Bunting - Lafferty - Nylander
Aston Reese - Acciarri - Kampf

Some people will laugh but these are actually the lines I would use to try and get a spark going.

I mean...your jobs on the line, might as well. If I'm Keefe I ride the core (that was constructed for me) fully in my (potential) last dying breath as HC of this franchise.

Tavares-Matthews-Marner
Bunting-O'Reilly-Nylander
-
Kerfoot-Jarnkrok-Acciari
Zar-Kampf-Lafferty

Rielly-Brodie
McCabe-Liljgren
Gustafsson-Schenn
(Sorry Gio)

Change essentially has to be the order of the day once the fate of the season hangs in the balance. It's just tough to pinpoint what might work effectively enough with so many underwhelming parts.

Nothing a little fresh coat of paint won't fix.

I envy your optimism but this series is over

the amazing narrative of 0 2nd round wins is crazy. We win round 1 only to be swept in round 2

Kampf and Laff were two of the very few guys that were playing like they actually wanted to win. Unfortunately, promoting them to the top line isn't a realistic option.

At this point, Keefe has tried virtually every combination and 9 games into these playoffs the forwards collectively have looked really good for about 2 full games and bits and pieces in the rest.

Besides, Matthews and Mitch (most notably and importantly) look like they can't wait for the season to be over and unless they feel otherwise, juggling lines all day isn't going to do anything.

Leafs have them right where they want them. The plan was to do a reverse sweep the entire time. It’s so obvious now. :sarcasm::skeptic:

No he hasn't.

There's one thing he has yet to try: Tavares dropped down to the 3rd line. He's done ROR on the 3rd line, he's done Nylander on the 3rd line, he's had Tavares at wing in the top 6 with ROR centering and everything in between.
But he's never actually dropped Tavares to the 3rd and told him to just try make it work with any combination of Kerfoot, Jarnkrok, Knies (when healthy) etc..

There has been a serious accountiblity issue that's been plaguing this organization for years. They play favorites and they're very obvious for it. Justin Holl can go almost an entire series of being the worst player in the NHL and only when things get REALLY bad like they did in game 5, Keefe will finally scratch him and play the rightfully superior D in Liljegren. And just last playoffs against Tampa - Liljegren was the one who started in the playoffs after Holl got scratched late in the regular season because he was horrible. Liljegren had two sub-par games (not even terrible games at all) and Keefe already had him pulled out for Holl by game 3. It's a blatant double standard.

Same thing with Nylander - when things are going bad, Nylander's always the one who gets demoted. Marner and Matthews? Nope, they stay put no matter what.

This is what happened to Florida last season after not getting past the 1st round since 1996. It would be somewhat nice to win atleast 1 game here

I guess, but it would be a consolation prize of sorts, those I have no interest in at all

Our big guns just aren’t that big, they don’t have it in them. Our goaltending isn’t gonna steal a game. We aren’t going to win 2-1

I wouldn't write off the possibility this team wins the next one and maybe pushes the series to 6. Not from the perspective of me being particularly hopeful or believing this group, but only because they'll be able to hang their hat on "never going away" or some such nonsense. Once the possibility of actually winning is off the table the boys will finally start feeling themselves.
