I had concerns with the assistants when he was hired and I don't see any improvements to almost any of their position players. In fact, most seem worse. Pegs and Adams being cheap bites them in the ass again.

Terry is Mike Clown only way more stubborn and incompetent and without the excuse that his entire worth is the team he owns (which is the main reason that until recently the Bengals were insanely cheap).

I honestly think the coaching is a bigger problem than the roster. At a minimum, replace all the assistants.

Really hard to pin point. We have seen a lot of these guys play embarassing hockey for years now. It's almost like they throw a tantrum and decide to stop trying all together.

Certainly coaching can be better. But holy hell is this group frustrating.

Really hard to pin point. We have seen a lot of these guys play embarassing hockey for years now. It's almost like they throw a tantrum and decide to stop trying all together.

Certainly coaching can be better. But holy hell is this group frustrating.

They haven't had a quality coaching staff in ages. There is way too much talent on this team - even with the roster flaws - to be this bad. It's most obvious with the defense and the PP.

How much better is Peca than Prospal? I suspect he’s not at all, which is why we probably won’t hire him even if he frees up.

That, and he probably is over the Adams charade after being spurned by him once already .

Coaching Updates:

So it seems Appert is INDEED the heir apparent to Ruff. He is certainly staying and been given more of a voice from reports on personnel decisions despite the horrible special teams last season.

No word of Wolford/Bales/Ellis yet

Oh god, what a terrible way to send Lindy off. I really hope that this is not the case. Or if it is, just make Appert the coach right now and lets rip the band aid off.

The sooner we start this the sooner we can stop it.

Would anyone have been down to swap Ruff for Tocchet? I know Tocchet isn't perfect, but man- his first year in Vancouver- he had that team locked in. It would've been interesting to see what he could've done here.

I would have been fine with it.

But, I don't see Rick being a fit with the current management and ownership in Buffalo.

Appert most likely will be back given everything I've heard people talk about. I bet they still view him as the head coach in waiting.

With the assistants reportedly being out of contract at the end of the league year, my guess is that we will have to wait and see what happens there. The challenge will likely be that Ruff is in the last year of his deal and how many quality assistant coaches will come here given the uncertainty about the future for the coaching and management staffs?

And will they offer more than one year deals to new assistant coaches?
