As a Canucks fan I have seen lot but this is pretty crazy

Mod Warning:

This is not a thread to discuss Canucks management or coaching staff, or even the Canucks in general. This is regarding a serious life situation that Linden Vey and his family are dealing with.

Posts that are made A) Not in relation to this topic, or B) Made in poor taste will be deleted at the least, with further action to possibly follow.

Jeeze you guys. Why are you always so mean to poor little Vey!? :sarcasm:

I do feel for the guy though. Crazy thing is my grandparents know this family in Wakaw.

Well.. small town effect still remains!
A story that rocked a whole community, yet virtually unknown outside of it...

In this day and age, and with HF's existence, and twitter and facebook, etc. .. very surprising.

This. The O'sullivan story. Fleury story. Bobby Ryan story. Many more I'm sure.

Hopefully the Vey family can move forward.

Me too. Wakaw is a pretty popular town. Thousands of people there every summer for the lake. I go there tons in the summer.

Surprising this lay secret for so long.

Absolutely insane. I can't imagine what must be going on in his head. Can you imagine how you would be feeling knowing that your dad was cheating on your mum and wanted to murder your mum just so he could be with someone else? Also, how are we only hearing about this right now? 2013?

Also, I think the title of this thread should be changed. Extremely misleading.

Edit: thanks.

There was even some consideration given to bringing Curtis Vey on one of the Canucks' official fathers' trips.

I don't think that would have been a good idea.

Who is this guy then? This is from the Canucks dads trip.

Certainly hard to blame Vey for his play given the circumstances.

Its interesting that teams (I assume this is league wide) don't conduct any due diligence with respect to stuff like this. This information would have been easily available to the Canucks had they bothered looking.

THat's one of the most insane stories I've ever read. I feel terrible for the guy especially with how the fans here have treated him over the last couple years. I can't even imagine being in his situation, and I can't imagine how the situation could even get better for him in the foreseeable future.

Well that is some ****. Obviously this is the story botchford was alluding to.

At least the trial is finally starting in 2 weeks, maybe some closure though not really. Crazy ****.
