I knew basically nothing of this player until the Canucks played him on Thursday. Since I've seen some videos of him this season. Is this guy liked by Coyotes fans? Or any fans? He seems like a bit of a clownshow.

He essentially was a distraction and took bad penalties until he was pummeled by Zadorov. Anyone have any insights into if he is effective or not?

He was with the Caps for a few years, one of those who bounced between the NHL/AHL. Middle weight fighter who probably thinks he's more of a a heavyweight. 4th line player who looks to stir things up.

Arguably the least talented player in the league, up there with Reaves and Deslaurier. When Coyotes came to my town, I was near the ice during warmups where you see how special NHL players really are, and the way he skated and handled the puck compared to everyone else really stood out, like a sore thumb.

He's there to be a shit disturber and 'leader' i guess and there might be a bias with his head coach, he coached him in junior hockey in the QMJHL.

I love watching the warmups. I remember, as a kid, watching Mick Vukota and being shocked at how skilled he was with the puck.

this name is pretty good....bonus point for playing for boston

he also fits certain stereotypes, not that those are funny. The thought of Liam O’Brien running amok and fighting everyone in Boston, and playing above his level because he’s a proper pal, does not make me laugh at all.

Does a DnD live show since March 2015.
And is a great voice actor. The hockey is just a side hustle i guess.

Seriously? That’s dope as hell.

What a weird shitheel of a player, respect the grind I guess. Probably a real smart personable guy who just knows his role real well.

He's an old-school fourth-line guy who doesn't have much of a place in the NHL anymore. Runs around and throws some pretty hard hits, but takes far too many ill-timed penalties. When he actually does have to fight, he loses pretty much every time. To his credit, though, he gives his all every shift, as he knows he has to in order to stay in the league.

O'Brien is getting paid near league minimum and a UFA at the end of the season. At age 29, I doubt that anyone picks him up for next season.

Toronto bout to give this man a 10x2

He split two dozen games between Colorado and their AHL affiliate a few seasons ago and I didn't even realize it until I saw a hockey card like a year later with him in an Avs sweater. I still can't recall ever seeing him on the ice back then.

He tries far too hard at a role he is not very good at. I maintain there is one NHL roster he is on, the other rosters would not have given him an extended chance in the NHL.

Dont tell rob blake about this guy.
Please.

One of those okay minor leaguer level players in terms of talent who figured out a niche, went for it and manages to get a few good nhl years in and not picky about where he goes. We always have a few of those in the NHL.
