I tried the Pens feed, idiot homers. We all know how awesome Sid and Malkin are and the Pens are a good team, but the end is getting very, very close.

The Leafs abused them all night with their speed.

Glad Matthews is OK even on that meme worthy play, he was the straw that stirred the drink, I'd keep a very serious eye and even give him a game off if it's precarious, I was worried it was a broken jaw but he wouldn't be back if it was.

Again no main thread for Mo's thread worthy goal, but whatever, he was a big big problem for the Pens to deal with all night.

Mitch made silky passing plays all damn game, as long as he sells, everything will be okay.

He, Willy and JT are also all tied, 17-28-45, but Mitch did his in 8 less games.

Jackie looked straight gangster, best he's been in over a month.

How much do you pay Kampf after next year? He's the specialest of specialists, I'd go a respectable number (2.5) on a big boy term (5-6) and be happy to use him on the PK and in key draws.

Klapanen and Malkin looked good for PGH.
lol, hes 1/4 through his contract, hold your horses :P

Matthews doing what he's done all season long, score goals, making big time plays at the right time. 21 seconds in, he sets the tone for the rest of the game.

Campbell had a fantastic game, he looked really confident. I hope his funk from January is over with for good.

I don't get worried when the opposition gets on the powerplay cause I know Marner or someone else will make them look stupid. Hell, I'd say the Leafs had more scoring chances on the Pens five powerplays than they did.

Marner looked really good too.

Second line still looked pretty blah to me. Getting hemmed in their own zone a bit too much. Tavares making bone-headed passes to no one, turning the puck over a few times. Need that line to be much, much better. The first line can't do it all.

Third and forth lines looked decent as well.

Good win, one of those feel good redemption wins from their earlier decimation at the hands of the Pens.

1st Star were the fans. Half full but full of energy.

Leafs played a decent defensive game in keeping the Pens primarily to shots from the outside. They were stellar on the PK and Campbell was up to the challenge all night.

We started well and then really tapered off. Soupy was great and we put away almost every good chances we had.

Refs were awful

Awesome post. Well done.

The refs pulled out all of the stops to try and give the Pens an edge, but it failed miserably. Toronto easily had the best scoring chances on the Pens own five powerplays, even scored on one of them as well.

Love it when the refs fail miserably.

Campbell getting his mojo back. Mo with a hell of a game. Matthews with another great game minus a few chiclets. Bunting is a pest and it's awesome.

Keep it going Saturday against St. Louis.

Go Leafs Go.

We got smashed in Excel sheet wars after period 1. Smashed is an understatement for period 3, but to be honest the game felt really easy regardless. Mainly due to Campbell. Never panicked once, felt like we had this one in the bag from the moment Matthews scored to the very end.

Leafs PK this year is 6th, 83.9%, last year 12th, 81%, the year before 79.7, 15th.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to attribute much of the uptick to his face offs, defensive IQ and reach.

This was a big one for me as they were the only team you could say "had our number" so far this year.

Would love to see MO go on an extra tear and put himself closer to contention for most points by a Leaf d-man. He's not far back of pace but needs a bit.
