Considering the Leafs had the best defensive numbers of any team in the playoffs and Campbell put up an .880 the last 3 games including that Bester special in game 7, I would have given him a look for sure.

I guess, but Campbell in game 7 looked exactly like andersen. To the point where when it became 1-0 I screamed freddy by impulse cuz of that goal.

on second thought, just having another reliable guy to turn to in the b2b game, and one of 6 or 7 could’ve changed a lot.

So bizarre who would guess we score 10 and Matty only has 1 of them.

our 23M in centers combined for 1 (Matthews still played unreal), we didn't get a PP goal, and Marner somehow got 4. And, that's barely the beginning of the story in this strange game.

Marner, Mathews, Bunting, their best game ever as a line. A game to remember for sure. Bunting leaving that puck for Marner is something I will never forget, just unbeleavable the way he reproduced "The Marner technique"

Craziest part is as soon as Bunting got a step ahead, I was sure a drop pass to Marner was coming.... confirmed when Marner slowed down and dropped in behind haha.

Isn't MAF like a 37 year old Campbell? Both can play really good. Both can play really bad. Both mentally weak. I'll give you that MAF is far more athletic but he can be just as big of a tire fire.

Well…..technically Pittsburgh did it against Philly a few years back….. and Sergei bobrovsky was in net for portions of that series

MAF can easily win you a series just as obviously as he can lose you it

he can have a .930 or a .880.

he can let 0 goals in, or he can let in worse back breaking goals then any goalie the leafs have had.

The boys were resilient tonight.

Campbell needs to take a back seat for a few games. If this continues, Dubas needs to strongly consider using some of our new found cap space to acquire a legitimate goaltender before the trade deadline.

TBH not many goalies can win you a series. Steal a couple of games? Sure. But a whole series? No. I feel like you need to take that gamble since he's proven it in the past.
