I think Leafs should break up the second line.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Kampf - Tavares - Mikheyev
Nylander - Kerfoot - Kase
Engvall - Spezza - Simmonds

It would give the Leafs a first line and two second lines, instead of two first lines.

Rewatched the highlites. Man, those 7-3 and 7-5 goals on Campbell were especially bad. The 8-7 goal on Mrazek was almost as bad.

i said it in the 1st period, jack couldnt even catch floaters in his glove, the signs were there he was going to have a very bad night

Every goal on Campbell was bad, he should have had all of them, every single one.

Same with Marazek, not a single goal can be blamed on the defense

I agree. Both a few of them were just in another level.

Crazy to see a game with 7 goals against and its almost entirely on the goalie.

This game took me back to the Toskala years. Where every shot was expected to go in. Every shot….

That game was Toskala for sure.

NHL: Jack Campbell, you are an All Star.

Jack: No, I am not.

I think we need to collectively hope this was just the flu throwing the team off. I don’t blame Mrazek coming in cold on a night when everything’s going in the net, but I really didn’t think any of Jacks should have gone in.

I wonder if Kyle Dubas will actually turn his back on Jack who was great right up until he wasn’t, and get a real goalie.

The goalies had a bad night, but Jack had the best save percentage .840 of all the goalies last night. They either need to get Fleury at the trade deadline or bring up Woll. Hopefully Jack will come back to his talent that he showed half of last season and most of this season. He has shown to be an all star for a calander year.

I doubt it. We’ve pretty much seen how Dubas operates. He cares more about the players than wins. I have very little doubt he’s willing to bet the farm on Campbell unfortunately. Saw on HNIC that Friedman was saying Dubas is willing to turn his back on 5M in cap space just so that if Muzzin feels like returning they’ll have that spot for him which is a damn joke.

leafs got worst luck

wicked offense ... finally got a solid goalie ... only for that goalie to lose it for the last 3 months now they gotta scrambble at the deadline. plus their D is average.

Man Andy threw in the towel last year and sucked but I have never seen a goalie give up the quality of the 4 goals that Soup gave up last night in the 3rd. Had Keefe kept him in, he surly would have given up a couple of more sinkers. I hope he has a bad memory and can shake it off.

When you have a 7-2 lead going into the 3rd, your system should allow you to lock that game down. That display of BS in the 3rd is on the coaches. If the players can't play with a lead, teach them. If the players don't want to play with a lead force them.

If Mrzaek and Campbell can only give you AHL level goaltending, why not try some of the AHL goalies that you have in the system, maybe one surprises you and saves a puck. These two mouth breathers have not earned the right to start one more game as a Leaf. Waive Mrzak, if someone claims him you just got rid of $3.8 mil for the next 3 years, his contract is no different than Ritchies anchor contract... do you know who is better than those 2 over the last 5 games.... almost every NHL goalie is. Hammond in Montreal is better, he was not even in the league a month ago. Berube in Columbus is better he was not in the league a month ago... what does that tell you?

Last nights game shows the immaturity that is prevalent in the coaches approach, the game plan and the players. This team makes it really hard to like them. It's even harder to cheer for them. It's really easy to be ambivalent about them. This is not a hockey TEAM, it's a bunch of really skilled athletes doing what ever the F they want to do. There is no singular purpose, there is no collective effort of 20 guys working towards one goal. It's just a bunch of individuals that want to get that 30 second me-me-me... I'm -I'm - I'm awesome rush, that you get from scoring.

Jebus I've never wanted Torts to be the Leafs head coach more today than in the previous 30 years of watching this team ... This team needs a hard ass task master defensive minded block every shot I don't give a shit sit down shut the F up head coach... Keefe is a soft ineffectual incompetent coach who will never win the cup as coach in Toronto. Dubas does not have the stones or foresight to make a coaching change mid season. He's more of a lets hold hands and talk about your feelings GM.

Toronto broke Campbell... the guy is irreparably broken ... time to go to Costco and get one of those shooter tutors... they will get you at least a .890 sv %.

My take on the Friedman Muzzin comment is that the Leafs have put that out there to try to not telegraph that they are going to use all that space and to pay lip service to the cap rules.

Time will tell but every micro move they are doing is maximizing LTIR space, not conventional space, so I’ll be shocked if they don’t hold Muzzin out at least until the playoffs.
