Definitely last year. He seems to have figured it out if he was not.

He was bad for a loooooong time and the team gave him more rope than any other goaltender I've seen play for the Leafs.

What were the Leafs supposed to do?

I actually thought he could figure it out as I was higher on him than other folks around here but don't try to say it was some injury excuse. Injured....not injured.....the guy was a .905 keeper over the last 2 full seasons and progressively getting worse with the team while other goalies outplayed him.

He does that (while looking like garbage) and then probably wants 4-5 million a year, do you sign him?

That was probably the easiest thing to turn down in the world considering Campbell was making him look like a beer leaguer behind the same team.

Isn't MAF like a 37 year old Campbell? Both can play really good. Both can play really bad. Both mentally weak. I'll give you that MAF is far more athletic but he can be just as big of a tire fire.

Well, he's had some real issues in the playoffs in the past but also 3x memorable runs to the finals (2008, 2009 and 2018) including one Stanley Cup, and then platooned in 2016 and 2017, playing as the starter for some of the series while losing the job to Murray. But I'd probably take a 3 time cup winner on paper and 20 years of NHL success at this point.

Biggest thing for me is MAF could probably help Campbell with the mental side of the game...

You could tell once Campbell let in a weak one he was thinking something along the lines "not this again".

He was playing okay-good for 40 mins than let in a bad goal and imploded.

So all we need is a 3C, defenseman and a goalie at the deadline. And what would you like to trade for all this Mr. Dubas and fans? Ummmmm Justin Holl? Maybe Dermott? And could you eat some salary too?

Campbell has lost his ju-ju. Mrazek isn't the answer. Muzzin who knows? Time for a bourbon. Night.

Kampf has been fine at 3C...why do we need a 3c?

TBH not many goalies can win you a series. Steal a couple of games? Sure. But a whole series? No. I feel like you need to take that gamble since he's proven it in the past.
MAFs 2018 run is nothing short of incredible. He carried that team to the finals had they won he should’ve gotten the conn smythe

at the same time, last year against Montreal he had a .904 and had that back breaking Josh Andersen giveaway in game 6 i think to tie the game

with how our goaltending is rn, if it doesn’t fix itself very soon I’d also take the gamble on fleury

I agree his time here was up. Credit him and Canes for getting it right so far.

Full credit to the Canes as they were a desperate team trying to find a keeper for half a decade.

I do think they may be in for a rude awakening come playoff time though...

Honestly I'm just happy that we don't have to hear how the Leaf blew a 5-goal third period lead to lose the game.

We've had enough embarrassment in the last 15 years .. please just make it stop.
15 years ?????????
And I thought you’ve been following our guys for at least 30 years give or take 10

I was still on the Soup will find his mojo but after witnessing tonight's game I am not so sure. One year later our goalies are leaking goals. Crazy.
