I still have no idea what Clifford did to earn a tripping call. That's also the 3rd or 4th phantom penalty in the last few games that the Leafs broadcast haven't bothered to show a clear replay of.

I still have no idea what Brodie was doing getting on the ice during the PK with nobody coming off. It feels like terrible changes have been a Leafs staple for over a decade now.

Also, two goals against from passes from behind the goal line. That's starting to be a trend.

It's still strange to see Mikheyev scoring on opportunistic bounces instead of flubbing breakaways. I hope he keeps it up.

Clifford kicked the Vegas player’s leg out from under him. Seemed incidental but that’s what happened.

Sounds like I should be glad that I only stayed up to watch the first period

By the way y'all
Who is this poster MathewsGKook ?
He can’t be part of Leaf Nation !!!!
Get lost to you , who ever you are and get out of that pad on top of your parents garage once in a while
I’ll bet this dooooofus hasn’t played one min of any team sport
Go Leafs Go
If it's the guy I think you're talking about, I have to admit, his username image made me LOL. But, beyond that, yeah, he sucks.

Didn't watch the game, was asleep. Glad to see they won! Loving the Sandin highlights of him hammering people. Wouldn't it be awesome if he became a bit of a Kronwall? Kronwall was a lanky skilled defender when he was drafted, but slowly became one of the most ferocious hitters of his era. Sandin patrolling the blueline and popping up 50 points would be a dream come true for this fanbase.

Pretty ugly win, refs didn't help again at all. Don't think Vegas looked that dangerous though even with controlling play in the 2nd half. Need to get healthy again, and take 2 more points tomorrow.
I understand that we didn't play well and that Campbell had to be excellent again for us to take any points, but the refs once again had a hand in us potentially losing points. That penalty to Clifford was an abomination. If they're going to make phantom calls (there is no way that was tripping), then just admit after the game that it's now necessary for the opposition of the Leafs to have 3 more powerplays and just have full disclosure.

Not our best game, and man, there was some INSANELY bad bench management. In the 2nd, guys get hemmed in, exhausted, ice it, and … no time out. Then even worse, too many men while killing a penalty, giving away a 2 man advantage that lead to the game tying goal.

But hey, 2 points, I’ll take it! Coaching staff needs to get their heads out of their asses, though.

When you are the top faceoff team in the NHL and facing a bottom 5 faceoff team statistical you save the timeout.

Sandin with 10 hits last night? Damn that is more hits that the whole D or Fs on most nights. Well done.

I was remembering a bunch of posts yesterday about how Sandin was going to be a liability in the playoffs. I know we have a lot of experts around here but I dunno, I'm not too worried about him myself.

I’m expecting a dominant fashioned game to make up for this atrocious performance

Multiple goal win, completely shut down ARIZONA, no BLOWN LEADS.

They gotta get back on track to playing some proper hockey

For this game

Nylander was ok
Matthews was ok
Tavares should switch his stick
Campbell was alright I guess, but no where near a problem. Team let him down, but he didn’t help himself in this one
Muzzin has regressed, we may need two top 4 dman, not 1
Clifford has established why he isn’t an nhl player
Ritchie has established why he isn’t a hockey player

Take the win, burn the tape
Don't disagree with any of these, perhaps too harsh on Campbell (he was excellent). You missed out on how terrible Holl was and quite frankly Spezza hasn't looked like himself either. Miky despite the goal hasn't been skating like he was the first few games back. They do miss Marner on the penalty kill and defensively.

Tavares still feeling some of the effects of COVID? Did not look good for the second night in a row. Did make a solid hit behind the Leaf net late in the 3rd though.
