Post-Game Talk: Leafs win 6-3

This is true but no matter what 4 of the best teams in the league are going to be eliminated in the first round, which for fans of those teams you and your team are not rewarded for a good season.

The reason sports seeds their teams is like a reward. The better you are the better odds you get to make the next round.
1 plays 8, 2 plays 7 etc
This NHL format is shite

Look at Jen Botterill's body language on this. It's worse than Jada Pinkett-Smith's after the GI Jane II joke. She's obviously extremely passionate about this. Kevin is like a fish out of water on that set with his opinion(s). It won't last there with him. Ron, Kelly and Jen looking at Kevin like he drives a truck.

Personally, I don't mind Jen's opinion. She's entitled to it. I even agree that the Beagle thing should never happen and should be punished. I also think it's fine to do something fine/suspension-wise with the pointless cross check, as well. All about bone jarring hits during the game but the after the whistle stuff needs to be handled better by the league.

Below, is a GIF and below that is a portion of the segment where Jen was visibly upset for Ron moving on without letting her continue ranting about her and "next gens" not wanting to see more tough guys, rather more Zegras and McDavids.

Agreed. I suppose I've just accepted the fact that it ain't changing any time soon and the Leafs need to break through it.

There was nothing wrong with the previous seeding at all and it shouldn't have been changed in my opinion.

Bunting must chirp a lot because he gets involved in so much after hours shit but during play he gets the worse of the abuse by far, just getting mugged repeatedly every game. Not like he doesn't retaliate but not at the same level.

From one of the replays of the goal you can see Bunting do some chirping. I guess he said something that got under Hayes' skin

You don't think I've played sports before? Nice assumption. And, you would be wrong.

Hockey has always accepted fights. It is part of the game. Not a fan of fights like that one at all. One like Simmonds tonight? That's different but it still could be argued that is unnecessary in the game. Many ways to look at this issue. Your reasoning is you played sports. Well, so have I and I assume most of us here. I produced them at the local and national level. Does that make my opinion more valid than yours? Nope. So, I'm not sure why you played sports is justification for your opinion.
 
Matthews doing Matthews things. Why is the league surprised that the best goal scorer is currently maintaining his title.

I hope these boards know that if the Leafs go on a deep run, I swear here and now I will never shut up about it to every single fan base that has blasted us (and yes, some times we have it coming)

There's a new guy on the Leaf boards with a writing style that is so strikingly similar that it makes me wonder if it's the same guy.

Different point of view, mind you, now that the Leafs are winning. Much less piss and vinegar. I would name him if that weren't against the rules.

Anyhow, if he's come back with a new identity under the witness protection program and cares to get along with others, that's fine by me.

All's well that ends well.

So Jen wants to turn the NHL into Swan Lake ballet? She is literally implying there should be no aggression in the sport, like no fighting...if you take fighting away, you'll just get all kinds of dirty plays and dirty stickwork...I guess it's ok for her since she's used to wearing a cage when she played hockey.

Very sexist remark, wow..

But the actual fact of the matter is that someone who's never played in the NHL is freaking out on HNIC almost every chance she can about how fighting/violence/hitting is wrong for the game.

As someone who's never been in the league, you really don't have pause to say what it's like to be in it or what's good for it, or what's bad for it.

Luckily Kevin Bieksa is here to keep things in check but man it's bad...
