orr had like 40 fights in a year and a half with us or something like that, crazy how the game has changed.
clark in his first 2 years had 52 lol.

Clarks first year was obscene. As I age, I see fighting as necessary to protect players, but in the 80s and 90s it really was to intimidate.

Well, Clark played a physical style as an unknown 18 year old farm boy. Other older tough guys twice his size would try to put him in his place. He never backed down from any of them, as I refer to him, a true honeybadger. As a young man in the big leagues.

For a team with nothing else going for them, he (and later the Hound Line with Courtnall and Leeman) brought some dignity to the franchise that had been the laughingstock.

Yeah you could beat our team, but hey, we had Clark. lol. The fans were going to be entertained and proud to wear his jersey.

OT/SO

FLA: 12-6, 30pts
TBL: 11-7, 29pts
BOS: 8-5, 21pts
TOR: 6-5, 17pts

It was good for Campbell to get a few pucks, a win and some confidence.

Welcome back Jack.

Great game by all in a game you should win. Solid return by Campbell there, wish they had kept it to 2 goals but what can you do on a deflection? Liljegren just gets better and better. Tavares sniped one. Matthews does what Matthews does. Marner had the puck on a string. Even Simmonds scored against his old team. Now up on Tampa. Time to go to Florida and sweep.

ye, im not convinced hes not that guy still, gonna have to see some run from good wayne before i give him a spot personally

He has to know that he and others will sit or be demoted in the case of Nylander if they aren't bringing their A Game.

It's not personal at all and Simmonds has to know this. He was once a young player and he'd be chomping at the bit to play.

He doesn't have to fight every game (though I think the league might be getting the message that he will if he must), but he has to at least bring some energy and show leadership by example.

I think he can and will bring this Simmonds to the playoffs. If he wants to win for this city, he has to.

honestly i care about the points less than i do about the fact hes actually holding onto the puck better now(outside of the few passes per game that u still scratch your head over). hes always produced because of his spot on the PP.
Ya, he was very unnoticeable tonight. Nice shot tonight though.

I actually think we were pretty bad tonight save for a few shifts.
They were bad in the 1st, had a bad second and had their best period in the 3rd. It helped Philly starting pinching a little but they seemed to have found their game by the last ten minutes and thankfully it was enugh to win the game.

Great win by the team. Nice bounce for Liljegren, AM with 51, JT and Nylander starting to get going and what more needs to be said about Engvall and Mikhey EV-just as likely to score as the team on the PP.

I know we shouldn’t be complaining but how is it Marner gets tripped right at Center ice and there is no call but the ref comes by for a brief conversation. “Sorry Marner you play for the TML so we don’t make those calls because it would be unfair to give you guys a PP against a shit team” and then 30 seconds later Lyubushkin gets called for a less egregious trip. I was ready to throw my remote at the TV. Sorry but the NHL needs to fine the refs when shit like this happens and given a report after games. What a load of bulls#*t.

Bunting back to the top of the rookie points race for the moment.
I had to rewatch to see why Hayes wanted at Bunting so badly. I couldn't see much, I think Bunting just has a face you want to punch. Hayes looked so mad, I was laughing. Hayes isn't too bright.

Mainly why I dislike the playoff seeding so much. But as someone posted before, you gotta beat the best to be the best. Time to get it done.

What I dislike is that the Leafs seem to be abundantly aware of the teams that are a challenge, and play to them.

They dog it for the rest of the league.

Maybe they're unaware of how playoff seeding or math works but all 82 games actually mean something.

There's no days off.

Clark was a force in those first few years.

29 fights his 2nd year...so 1 every 3 games more or less lol

What a tough time to be in this league. Back then if you didn't fight every game, you really didn't contribute, if you were known as a figher

and you fought some heavy weights. Every team had like 2-3 psychos
Clarke was 5'11 ......... I don't know what kind of pants he wore with those big balls

One of the strongest divisions possibly ever
The main board got their panties in a bunch over the leafs dominating an allegedly weak Canadian division but theyre gonna completely ignore how strong their division is this year.
It's trendy to hate the Leafs on the mains. Rarely do you see people go to such elaborate lengths to push narratives and dicredit success at the level the haters do on the mains.
