That was last season, apples and oranges. Have you watched him the last 3-4 games? He was running around pasting anything that moved.
I don’t care what anyone says, you need a player like that in the lineup.
if he played like he did the last few games, sure i agree. given what u have seen over his career with the leafs can u say with any certainty hes not going to disappear again?

Quick, to the simulator! Ya, Tie was great because he used his faults to his advantage. I think Wayne's reach helps him against Tie. But it would be a cool fantasy fight. As crazy as Tie was, I don't think he went out to kill his opponent like Wendel and Wayne
with tie, he was so hard to take down since his center of gravity was so low, if he got in tight you were done lol. i djed at a afterhours in toronto for years and n=one night he came and started hitting on my GF...i was like "ye, just take her. im cool" lol

orr scarier for me, maybe belak and king too.

Orr was the best when enforcers were becoming extinct and the Leafs couldn't compete with the NHL in any other way.

Belak was average in an era where they were common. As I remember, he was press-boxed when Jansen hit Kaberle.

Sure, that’s a valid point. I am hopeful he continues playing that physical style and I honestly see a man on a mission right now.

orr had like 40 fights in a year and a half with us or something like that, crazy how the game has changed.
clark in his first 2 years had 52 lol.

Marner on that third goal was pretty slick. I know Hart has been struggling but it was still pretty nifty to see that fake out.

Since Tavares snapped that goal drought:

12 games
7 goals
8 assists

Granted most of that has come on the PP, he's at least producing. Back to back games with ES goals though.
honestly i care about the points less than i do about the fact hes actually holding onto the puck better now(outside of the few passes per game that u still scratch your head over). hes always produced because of his spot on the PP.

- Tavares is starting to roll
- Nylander is looking engaged again

Not entirely disagreeing because Tavares had his chances but he blew a tire at least three times in the game, once getting stick behind the Flyers net, and also got caught trailing up the ice a few other times. Not great for a guy who doesn't have the footspeed to back check hard.

Nylander was good no matter who he played with but it's funny that he made a good defensive play to block a shot but failed to clear it afterwards and it led to a goal against. It seems like that happens to him a lot - half of a good defensive play, doesn't complete the thought and it comes back to bite him.

I was impressed with his patience. Hart did everything to take that angle away and Marner had so much composure to pull it back and circle around the net.

Only needed one period to win that one. Better strap our boots on for puck drop on Monday though! Go Leafs Go!!!

Is it me or is it problematic the refs do nothing after an opposing player takes a shot at our team well after a goal is scored?

That's how games can get out of hand
Crosscheck from behind, not like they were near each other, he went out of his way to do it. Kerfoot was also hit after a goal last game or was it in Boston.
