Bit of a gong show, Leafs didn't have their best game, clearly. Not really sold on Mrazek, never been a fan of his. That's just a personal opinion, I'm not passing it off as fact, I just am not a fan of his game overall.

Leafs got a little bit of luck at the end to make it 5 to 4, but also worked hard to get that chance. A win is a win, but they need to be better. Especially since they aren't getting .945%+ every night. Can't score 4 or more every game, have to clean it up defensively.

Holl still sucks, can't wait until he's gone.

Leafs-Hawks is always an affair, and I think allowances in the schedule should let certain teams, even in different conferences, play more often when they generate intense games.

I'm not liking this killer 1st-bad 2nd-turtle 3rd thing they did here and against CBJ.

I feel like they could have pounded both teams 7-2 or 6-1 but were careless, it was 5-3 in CBJ with a goal with 0.7 left, there was no excuse for this game to be less than a two goal victory.

Still 2 pts, keeping pace with Florida-Tampa.

A LOT of audible f-bombs on mic.

Five penalties in the 1st, one in the second, zero in the third.

THAT is how you officiate an NHL game; let them know there's gonna be no bullshit, keep it going when they see that.

I was gonna dap the Giraffe for showing excellent skill on that goal, but the fourth line didn't have a good night.

Yet another reason to love Kase - he can jump up with Matthews and not look out of place.

Holl pinches and gets caught at least twice a period. We should have soll him last year but I think he's a well-liked guy and a voice in the room - it's never so simple.

A not very nice game overall from the D, Liljegren got victimized a few times, Mo and Holl made bad pinches, but Brodie and Muzzin played well.

Muzzin's hit was clean but on the borderline of borderline - a little high but he didn't adjust to the head.

Steeves first point, nice.

Rubins looks like a nice 3rd pair guy who can skate with excellent size, want to see more rage.

Toews had forever to snipe, the second and fourth goals he was screened perfectly and the third a bad defensive breakdown, and he faced 35 in his first game in six weeks.

Mrazek is a little rusty but was fine, he should play 3-4 out of every ten games.

Chicago is paying the price for their success.

I would trade everyone for three cups within the last decade.

I asked in the game thread but it got buried so I ask you again: Alex Nylander? He's not Willy, he will never be Willy, but he could still be something and he'd be cheap.

Unless there's some secret brotherly beef there he could start with the Marlies and get his game back and then could end up a good middle six guy...or he could be shit, when his brother is a star and his dad was a very good NHLer.

It could happen!

Kane and Toews stop making 10.5 after next season. Kane will have the numbers to get in on the first ballot, Toews will need 3-4 more years.

I can see Kane taking another 2-3 years in Chi for maybe 7 and then retiring to enjoy his life and success.

I see Toews chasing it with a few teams for another 4-5 years.

Connor Murphy is the best RD on Chicago.

Is Debrincat a great player, or does he just play with them?

Have a huge problem with that in a game like tonight. He should have been stapled to the bench with/instead of Rubins.

Ugly win. Take the 2 points but you have to be concerned about the lack of effort when we get leads. Holl is just so bad that he needs to be replaced.
