Tavares didn't score again but he worked hard to set up a couple of goals, including on the winner. Nice to see some fire inside there help him work hard on that shift. He deserves some praise

Happy for Sandin too.

Goaltending remains an adventure but at least they kept it to a field goal tonight.

Seemed like it was going against them with an off-PP night. Hard to be mad at it given its tops in the league right now, so I'm sure they'll rebound.

Refs did they best to give the Caps a chance to get back into it, though the Leafs did get some calls afterward.

Fun fact:

Leafs are second last in PP opportunities since 2018-2019, with the second most goals 5 on 5 in that same span

During then other teams that are top 5 in goals 5 on 5 are Florida, Colorado, Minnesota, and Washington .. They're all top 11 in PP opportunities.

Bonus fun fact: the Bruins are 4th in PP opportunities despite scoring the 18th most 5 on 5 goals.

Mzarek made the saves he had to other than the 3rd goal. He battled though. Holl had a good game too. Maybe with Brodie he'll be alright. Liljegren was pretty good too. Definitely experimenting going on but seems this game it was pretty solid.

Good road win. On to Buffalo. Many weaker teams coming up. Hopefully they can get a good streak going. They have a shot at 1st forsure now.
