Seeing the emergence of Timothy Liljegren -- the Viking. Five hits. Retaliation behind the net without a penalty when retaliation was clearly need. Good play with Gio.

He's really finding his game.

I hope he becomes the strong, fast, skilled, nasty top-four RHD that the Leafs so desperately need.

Lyubushkin with six hits. Eleven hits between Liljegren and Lyubushkin tonight, and a few more by Gio. This is the edge that Leafs have needed for so very long.

Maybe next year the Leafs could play Brodie and Liljegren in the top-four, re-sign Lyubushkin for the third pair, and trade Holl to clear a roster spot.

Rielly, Muzzin, Sandin and maybe Gio on the left side?

That 4th line has just fallen off a cliff. Night and day from.last year. Blackwell brings a spark. but I'd bring up Knies for a couple of games and give him a long leash,.maybe he can wake some.players up.

Yea that would be cool to see, even if he struggles it can't be any worse than what we saw tonight.

That is one slow ass dcorps.

And not even that big to make up for it, either.

Not only did the leafs win, I literally just scraped by in my fantasy league playoffs round one and won the week by 0.4 pts......lolol

Go Leafs go!!

Playoff type win. Hard fought win against a really good team. Florida looked like they tired a bit as the game went on.
Loved the pushback tonight, no backdown.
Special teams won the game, IMO. Pretty even 5 on 5.

Agreed on most part here. 4th line should be better no doubt; but the coach needs to have game awareness and do better on the fly coaching too.

Too often Spezza line was caught against their top2/3 lines. That should not happen especially when you have the last change

"Do better on the fly"

"Has last change"

those contradict each other.

Both times I remember the 4th line getting hemmed in was because of long shifts and Florida changing, not the coach sending out the Spezza line to play against Florida's top line.

Mrazek was good but not spectacular, and gave the Leafs exactly the goaltending they need.

He was a rebound-sponge. Great job.

When they get Muzzin back:

Rielly-Boosh
Gio-Lily
Muzzin-Brodie

Nice and physical.

In all likeliness Sandin comes back first though:

Rielly-Brodie
Gio-Lily
Sandin-Boosh

Still solid.

That's what was encouraging. Ate up rebounds, didn't seem to swim around overplaying the puck, and didn't let much through him ... the latter two come with confidence. I hope these two games get him on track.

I'd try anyone (not Clifford) on the 4th line over Simmonds and maybe Spezza. They can't possibly be worse.

In fact, I know a guy like Anderson would be much better.

That was Selke Barkov that Mikky blew the doors off in the neutral zone btw.
In fairness, not many (if any) can catch Mikky going all out. Barkov definitely didn't read who was on the ice though to get back in time though, got caught watching Marner for a second.

Posters here are bipolar.

Comparing posts pre game, during and post game are laughable.

Lol why are all Leaf teams so damn bi-polar, lay an egg vs the worst team in the league, destroy one of the best. Just weird.

Matthews is a generational goalscorer I truly hope he is here for life, Mikheyev no longer hands of stone I love it, Mrazek above .900 is nice to see lol.

These two posts were right after another and I found it to be amusing

the bolded part especially LOL

He's certainly looked like a new man after going on waivers. Maybe it was a good wakeup call?
We can only hope at this point, but one thing he’s been and done before is counted out and come back to play some fantastic hockey for his team. Dudes a busted faucet, hot or cold. No in between
