Gotta run with mrazek for a bit, even if he loses the next game.

We got him for a reason and that’s to make both goalies compete.

I'm always happy for a win. But this one was a little better because the players responded to being called out by their coach.

Finally kept a 2 goal lead. Some warts along the way, but hockey is a game of mistakes. Minimize yours, exploit the opponents.

I expect Campbell to start the next game.

Yeh, Mrazek dud what no other Leaf should be doing. Nice victory but guys like Parise took runs ( 4 on 1 shift by his line). AM gets knocked down..nothing.
In a series this will kill us again
Does every single post you make have to dovetail somehow into how you’d rather watch wwe on ice?

Not during the season, no. They’re going to need two good goalies to get through this condensed schedule.
Come off season nothing is off the table and it would depend on how much Campbell gets

You probably need $3.1m (minimum) for Soup and $750k-$1m for a backup. Only way Mrazek remains a Leaf is if Soup does not.

Right now there’s a touch under $5.5m for the goalies, if Campbell gets 4.5 you can afford $1m for a back up. If Campbell wants 5-6-7 like some doomsayers around here suggest he walks and you sign holtby Halak Husso or vanacek to be the 1b for what Campbell was making give or take and run them with Mrazek in a tandem.

Pretty good game last night. The team played with more structure even after getting the 3-1 lead.
Maybe their conditioning and mental sharpness are coming back.
They still pass abit too much on the PP

Don't like it, don't read it, because all you do is love everything they do. You seem like you enjoy losing. 1967.
I would trade Austin M for a cup.
Remember Bathgate trade. 5 for 2. Seiling, Brown Duff and Nevin were all regulars. Guts and a cup.
Ps I do not want to trade AM, just making point

Islanders aren't exactly a wagon offense, but I think it was good timing to work on holding the lead and get that structure and confidence back.

Locking it down with a massive 4-1 lead shouldn't be a highwire act without a net. A team just needs a quick checklist of the following: balance the tendency to go into shell mode and give the other team life or keep playing and frustrating with a demoralizing forecheck. Risk reward ratio for pushing for more offense vs shutting it down entirely and getting cold. Maintain good structure and leverage the clock, burn up time, etc. Nothing crazy but just takes a bit of mental focus and everyone buying in.

Ya never know, Mrazek is getting the Detroit game for sure because of his old team, and his solid performance last might my just give them the ducks game too.

No I don’t remember the bathgate trade, I’m not seventy years old. Also, I hardly like everything they do and have more than my fair share of criticism of the the team. Fake toughness isn’t one of them.

What you go on on about saying they need. Bottom of the line up stiffs who contribute 0 to the impact of the game.
I do not care bottom on line up or top toughness.
I am sick of weakness.I am suvk of teams taking liberties with AM, Marner, Soupy, Reilly, Sandin, . I am sick of being mauled in a series,
Even Dubas knows which is why he trues Ritchie, but Keefe cannot coach strength. When cycles become dominate in May, we will wish we had push back.
When they run Soupy with Dermott on the ice, or Holl, or Reilly and nobody steps in ( do not have to drop gloves), but the other team must know retribution is coming. Keefe coaches weak.
We may have a room issue, who knows, but something is wrong.

So as a Leaf fan who thinks uou need to be 70, you call yourself a fan...
Cianachef, Clancy, Say, Aps, Keon, Armstrong, Duff, Big M, Vsun, Horton, Brewer, are important.
Horton never fought but he put more guys on their back
Last night the only push back was Mrazak. The d dud nothing.

If somebody thinks he can be the answer to their goaltending problems, I'd rather move him and the remaining two years on his contract now than in the summer, sign Soup and look for a veteran backup like Holtby or Halak.

And go into the playoffs with an injury prone Campbell and Hutch?
Can't say I agree with you this time.

Agreed. Can’t see this tandem being split up until the off-season when the cap
Will necessitate a change. Right now they’re going to need both goalies to have any shot at success this year

Only Duff and Nevin were regulars in 63-64.

Islanders might not be offensively gifted as Avs, Vegas, Rangers or the Blues but if the boys played the way they did before agains the Islanders, I think Islanders will end up taking the lead.
Those goals scored after the lead were more to do with Leafs making mistakes collectively than the other team making great plays
