LOL at trading Petr. After the last few outings by Jack, we badly need him.

Overall, a solid game although I was a little concerned about some of the d by Lilly and the Marlies call up.

We need Muzzin back.

I love how visually pumped Mrazek gets after big saves. He made a few good, timely ones in the third.

Always fun watching Isles lose to Leafs, watching the crowd faces after Engvall’s last millisecond goal was especially satisfying.

I liked when he made that point blank glove save and practically shoved his glove in Parise's face.

Yeh, Mrazek dud what no other Leaf should be doing. Nice victory but guys like Parise took runs ( 4 on 1 shift by his line). AM gets knocked down..nothing.
In a series this will kill us again

Mrazek has barely played the last year or so. He just needs to get some more games in to get into a rhythm. He's a decent goalie. He is better than a lot of backups around the league

We also need to not overburden Campbell going into the playoffs. Soup has had his groin issues as well.

I know as a Leafs fan, I'm not supposed to laugh at this, but I did. A small laughter explosion, to be honest.

Defence didn't look bad tonight. Dahlstrom>>>>>Biega
I don't know if I'd give him that many ">" but better than Beiga, for sure.

That said, Marlies fans, what the hell happened to Menell? I remember watching him in preseason and thinking he played an almost flawless game. I was impressed with his puck handling skills too. I thought he was a shoo-in for 7th d-man. Baffling.

Injured the majority of the season unfortunately. Not much info out there about his injury.

He would have gotten a Leafs game or two at the very least if he was healthy.

Not a good 3rd period, if the Islanders weren't completely inept at scoring, the leafs would've had a problem. But alas, the Islanders suck.

I think if we are going into the TDL and feel safe trading him, his value will be different if he is a +.910 goalie instead of where he is now, -.900.
If Edmonton hasnt already filled the spot before the TDL, him having 20ish games under his belt and a league average save % will increase his value IMO.

Why would you trade a .910 goalie at the TDL when you are gearing up for playoff run ? That make no sense.

Battles of the backup goalies and Mrazek outplayed Semyon Varlamov who let in a pair of stinkers.

Leafs held the 3-1 lead for the 1st time on the trip despite sitting back and trying to protect the lead rather than keep attacking.

It was a step in the right direction defensively.

If somebody thinks he can be the answer to their goaltending problems, I'd rather move him and the remaining two years on his contract now than in the summer, sign Soup and look for a veteran backup like Holtby or Halak.

I can't believe that team went to game 7 with Tampa and lost 1-0. Maybe it was due to playing B2B but they seriously looked awful on offence.

Pretty much this.
I would like Mrazek a lot more long term if his injuries wernt so prevalent.
I dont know if I want to bet of Mrazek being healthy for another few years.

If we can get a 'meh' goalie in return, and sign a decent backup this offseason I think it may be the prudent move.
Holtby, Halak, Eliotte, Forsberg, Tokarski, Kinkaid, Husso, Houser, Lindgren all have over a .900 save % and are UFAS.
There are a few other interesting guys like DeSmith who have been good, and have struggled a bit this year.
If organizationally you are confident you can get at least one of the guys for around 1.5ish, it makes keeping Campbell a decent amount easier.

IMO a trade could be Mrazek for Koskinen + Lavoie/2nd or maybe Bourgault if they are really desperate and we add a late pick/mid tier prospect.
