Yesterday's defence pairings at practice:

Rielly-Liljegren
Brodie-Holl
Sandin-Lyubushkin

I like this, especially since Holl can be looked alas a placeholder in this scenario.
Lily gets a chance to show he can be an important part of a top 4, Sandin gets a stable partner, I actually like that 3rd pairing's physicality.

To be accurate, your onscreen guide says that the CBC/SN broadcast of the game starts at 7:00.

I agree. I'd also guess that it's the best that can be done given what there is to work with too. The only tough part for me is not being able to keep the Rielly-Brodie pairing intact due to LHD/RHD numbers. I'm not certain that any of the RHD can effectively play on the left side (and it feels a bit weird to even type that thought out!)

Any idea why it’s a 7:30 start?

They're playing both a Pistons game and a Red Wings game at Little Caesar's Arena today.

The Pistons game started at noon and when it's done, they'll convert the arena to hockey for the 7:30 Leafs-Wing game.

I suspect that 7.5 hours between game starts is the lowest they're comfortable with. and that the Pistons did not want to start earlier than Noon -- hnece the 7:30 start time for the Wings.

You can't be scared of anyone but it's looking like you either need to face Bolts / Panthers / Hurricanes to get out of the east or take first and potentially get the Bruins instead of one of those Florida teams. Our demons aside, they are a better team than the Bruins.

Maybe that's what it takes is somehow beating Boston and they just gain confidence in closing out a series.

I used to love watching Mr Keon coming around our net and skipping through our blue line and making a rush to the net , or angling off a opponent into the corner or blocking a shot short handed and going on a breakaway and scoring lifting the MLG crowd off their seats

Lily on the first pair is going to be exciting. It's a good game to try it out, Wings are a good up and coming team but also not a high level team like Minny where he would get "exposed" or taken advantage of.

Not a fan of starting Soup after the game Mrazek just had. Probably the best goaltending performance we've seen since January 1st, he deserved the start.

Keefe doesn’t want either goalie to sit out too long. It’s not like one game cemented Mraz at their number one. They need Campbell to be dependable to start the playoffs because he has the higher upside which they will need especially if they play Tampa.
