Well, I did say the Leafs in six games. This series is going to six games at the very least no matter what now.

Normally I'd be happy with a split in Tampa, but for some reason, I'm not. How can I be with that piss poor effort in game 4? Just garbage.

Tampa responded big time after losing game 1 .. it’s completely flattening to see that Leafs not be ready for the same thing in game 4.

Disheartening to see Nylander having his worst playoff of his career, especially after last year. Tavares isn’t doing much.

The silver lining is that they’re tied 2-2 in the series after being outclassed in two games. But it’s hard to believe they’ll actually be able to close out a series against Tampa. As has been the concern all along, they just don’t have it mentally.

This eerily reminds me of that game 5 against Montreal last year. The series wasn’t over but how they lost which set the stage for the rest of the series seems similar to this.

Tampa has their mojo back and will probably take games 5 and 6. Leafs haven’t shown the ability to adjusted and push back.

I just don't see how we win a series. I don't see how the players can get through an hour of hockey knowing that they have a chance to advance.

Hey guys quick question. When a series is tied 2-2 the winner of game 5 wins the series what percentage of the time? Historically?

he needs pk time shifted to 5v5 any smart coach would do it

Of all things to bitch about tonight you're concerned that Marner only played over double and 10+ more minutes than Blackwell? You're f***ing with me, right?

Do you understand how hockey works? You can't have MITCH MARNER playing that little time 5 on 5. You think we're going to beat tampa with our current special teams?

If we had a top 3 PP and top 3 PK in the playoffs it would be working but we need marner out 5 on 5 he's a top 5 point producer in the game.

I was so optimistic after game 1 but wow my hopes are getting crushed again.

These last 2 games - emotionless, un-intense, sterile and soft hockey. It's honestly become their trademark in the playoffs.

there's still time, but are these boys seriously willing to do what it takes

From puck drop that's how he was used and it's not the first game he's been used that way either.

We are going to absolutely throw away 5 on 5 play if this continues. Can't just look at total ice time you need to look at the total breakdown and that's just ugly. We can't run the team through depth players 5v5 and only use the big guys on special teams. Marner isn't going to PK points us to the cup.

They track minutes man, he's leading our forwards in TOI and top 5 ES.

Obviously he will lead 4v4 when did I even bring that up

It's same story every year. Marner taken away from more important areas because of PK. Our depth isn't as good as people think running through mik engvall etc (because it's tampa).

If people need another first round loss because the last couple losses of over using marner on the PK wasn't enough learning experience, then enjoy.
 
I do think our chances of winning the series are higher if we transfer Marners PK minutes to 5v5. That also means Matthews is out more too.

I mean I don't see how it lowers our chances......it's not like the guy ^^^^^ is fighting for more 5v5 ice time for simmonds or something, its mitch marner the dude who puts up 5v5 points in his sleep when he's on.
 
Muzz looks hurt and Holl is a liability. Maybe dress Lilly and Rasmus next game. It’s not the best solution but I don’t see Lilly and sandin getting hemmed in like muzz and Holl

We have seen 40 seconds from Clifford my guess is he draws back in for game five.

Unless marner contribution to the PK outweigh not having him out there 5 versus 5, he shouldn't be on the PK so much in this matchup. Marner is a Kaprizov level point producer not Toews, let him loose.

The other penalty killers don't even need him there they are playing very well on the PK. So why are we doing Tampa a favor shielding them from 5v5 Marner? It's stupidity.
