Is it just me or does Coops seem very nervous about the Leafs. That game 1 mindf***ed him.
Talking to Tampa Fans, they did NOT want to play us. We match up with them real well, and we are faster then they are.

The puck movement by the Leafs last night was some of the best I have seen all series.

Tamp puts on a great show, it would be very cool if the Leafs gave out magic bands at their games. It’s fantastic!

This is so freakin' confusing; may be it is just me. what is cooper even trying to say here....

He's trying to encourage his team to clean up their play defensively in an attempt to give up fewer goals and suggesting that his own team is the reason for their current predicament/deficit as much as the Leafs are. It's essentially a motivational tactic.

First thing's first, Vasilevskiy has given up 11 goals in the past 3 games, so if my math checks out that's a 3.66 GAA, so I'd happily concede Jack's 3.50 GAA if we get Vasi's 3.66 GAA over the next 2-3 games.
I'll take Jack's 1.0 GAA in our last two victories. Vasi sports a sweet 4.0 in those same games. We aren't talking GPA here, thanks Coops

So far, Campbell has done what he is supposed to do this series. Can't ask for more

Of Tampa's last 9 playoff series, Florida and Carolina would fit into the higher skill bracket, while the Bruins, Islanders, Blue Jackets, Stars, Canadiens would fit into the grinding variety:

-Toronto
-Montreal
-Islanders
-Carolina
-Florida
-Dallas
-Islanders
-Boston
-Columbus

Tampa's weakness is becoming more and more obvious. Their D don't skate that well at all. Hedman is obviously still a 240lbs gazelle but McDonagh is really losing a step with all the hard miles he's put on in his career, Cernak, Sergachev and Foote are not that great of skaters (slow acceleration), and Bogosian is a turtle.

I suggested this top-9 in another thread:

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Nylander-Kerfoot-Kase
Engvall-Kampf-Mikheyev
Blackwell/Clifford-Tavares-Spezza/Simmonds

Build a top-9 that can abuse the speed of Tampa's D. Tavares is not the answer to anything, he can't accomplish anything against Tampa's D - they're too big for him and everybody knows he can't outskate any of them. When we push the pace against Tampa that's when we really start making them look bad.
This. This. This. Let Jt and the goons grind away on tampa’s lower skill goons and kill the rest of em with speed

Nylander - MAtthews - Marner With Bunting still not at 100% and Nylander struggling, time to switch it up. You know this trio would be lethal

I mean did Tampa take Maroon/Bellemare/Perry out after game 1?

I saw the overreactions to Simmond's penalty coming from a mile away. People were profusely looking for anything to make Simmonds a scapegoat and have Spezza in.

I mean yeah, I can totally see Spezza come in. We're gonna ice one of the softest lineups again but I guess doesn't matter.

There's no chance Engvall comes out. Blackwell is too versatile too come out. Not to mention he's a perfect 4th line center.
They didn't take their useless 4th liners out, we did, we up 2-1.

Their problem is they don't have a guy like Spezza to replace Maroon.

What a big game tomorrow. How we feeling?

Extremely difficult to beat Tampa at home two games in a row. Expecting a loss here. But hoping they don't completely roll over and can make it a tough game for Tampa.

Need to see the PP get going more. The PK needs to find a way to shut them down. And Campbell needs to continue to play well.

lmao let's chill out. Spezza is a fine player but Maroon has won 3 Stanley cups in a row and was a mainstay on the 4th line in all 3 cup runs.

Being up 2-1 doesn't mean we won the series. Spezza wasn't a reason we won last night lmao

My X factor right now is Kase. He's been ok but not really noticeable. I think he needs a big game tomorrow or else he comes out for Simmonds or maybe Clifford for extra punch going into Game 5.
