I’ve been quite impressed with the leafs. If you guys had a berter goalie then look out.

Leafs have a great team. I don’t think you guys will be able to beat us (because of Vasi) but y’all have a bright future!

Edit- why didn’t you guys lose the last game of the year to try to play Boston?
If you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best - Ric Flair

Vase has still been very good but it's sooo encouraging seeing us pucks past him every game. Campbell's the only goalie with the shut out so far.

Just don't let this get to game 7. I think if it goes to 7 Tampa will have all the confidence and we will be playing nervous. Just get passed round 1 and I'm sure the nerves will change into confidence for the later rounds even if it's a game 7.. that giant monkey on our backs don't make it easy. Get the job done boys!!! Man what is wrong with this dude .

He's sounded plain shook since game 1.

LOL I never realized just how unlikable he is. Sure he's won a few cups but I suspect that's more than team than him. Do his players even like him? *edit* Also nice cherry picking, ignore his shutout the first game.

Meanwhile Vasi's stats so far...

I think the Leafs should be focusing on the next game as if it were an elimination game and be prepared to empty the tank in Game 4 on the road, rinse and repeat Game 5 at home. Don't think too much about the series dynamics, don't think about a safety net of being up in the series or concede a Lightning push, or get in the mindset of an eventual Game 7. Do the hardest work earliest, have fun and try to shut it down.

Absolutely! Come out flying and go for the throat. Do whatever it takes to avoid leaving Tampa Bay tied.

One thing I realized these playoffs is Sergachev is absolutely horrific defensively. I don't know how Tampa won the cup with him tbh, absolute turn over machine and the guy can not defend for the life of him. He's Gardiner/Barrie bad defensively. Exploiting Foote/Sergachev has been huge for the Leafs success. If we can keep rolling and secure another win in game 4, no doubt we end it in 5 in Toronto. Home ice and last change, Keefe will continue to abuse that 3rd pairing of Tampa.

Game 4 is going to be the best game of the series, absolute must win game.

Great observation. Also, keep funneling all the heavy forecheck towards Sergachev and Foote. Tampa doesn't have little guys on D but find those soft targets and just hit them and exploit them a la Boston on Gardiner.

The key for the Kampf line? Nothing bad happened when it was out there. Nothing really happened. Kampf scored his second goal of the series earlier in the evening when he was playing with Mikheyev and Alex Kerfoot.

That’s how the Leafs started Game 3. But inevitably, Engvall rejoined the unit — the result of Keefe promoting Kerfoot to the No. 1 unit in place of Michael Bunting, who is lacking his usual burst after a late-season injury.

The line always worked best during the regular season when Engvall joined Kampf and Mikheyev.

For Matthews, it came down to the combination of “their speed and their strength and their size.”

“I mean, all three of those guys can skate pretty good,” Matthews said, “especially the two guys on the wings. And they’re big and strong. I think they’re just constant pressure, constantly on top of you and forcing you to make plays a little bit quicker than maybe you want to.”

Keefe grew to adore the line during the regular season. It became a safety valve for him, a unit he could stuff in the defensive zone and know, almost for certain, the puck would get out and end up at the other end.

Among lines across the league that played at least 150 minutes together during the regular season, the Mikheyev-Kampf-Engvall combo ranked sixth in the expected goals department, at a blistering 66 percent.

Though Mikheyev began the series playing alongside Tavares, Keefe often sent him out there anyway for defensive-zone draws with Kampf and Engvall. Often, those shifts came against Tampa Bay’s No. 1 line.

He didn’t care. He trusted them to do the job.

“I don’t sweat it at all when those guys are out there,” the Leafs coach said. “And it’s really whomever Kampf’s wingers are, but when he’s with those two guys especially, things seem to really settle down for us.”

can someone collect a gif between the 210 left in the second period to the 2 minute mark thats where kuch tried to take out holls knees the same way he did sabotka

i believe it was holl but he never touched the puck and got lowbridged after kuch had a tantrum after brodie hip checked him to the boards and seperated the puck

did a couple screen shots but it doesn't do it justice

yep, no freebies.

First thing's first, Vasilevskiy has given up 11 goals in the past 3 games, so if my math checks out that's a 3.66 GAA, so I'd happily concede Jack's 3.50 GAA if we get Vasi's 3.66 GAA over the next 2-3 games.

Does he conveniently forget about the shutout the first game?

This. Empty the tank game 4, because game 5 will be the first time this series they will have 2 days off rather than just 1 day like it's been all series.

Beat them and take a 3-1 lead and then come back to Toronto rested and end it with (what I would hope) would be lessons learned from last PO.

Cooper is stealing material from the Leafs board. There were many posts before Gm 3 that said Leafs scored 8 goals on him in 2 games etc... Cooper gotta cough up some moolah if he is gong to steal material from HF Leafs board and not even give credit. LOL

No surprises. Nice to see everyone in attendance.
Keeping the lineup intact. I guess you don't mess with the winning lineup.

Game 5 is on Tuesday, standard one day off. It's that way all series.
