It's our turn to twerk in their goal crease 😆
I just had a mental picture of one of our players actually twerking in the Habs crease……..I actually really did laugh out loud……

If Toronto had the same record as Fla over the last 10 they would be one point behind Fla with the same # of games played. We belly ache about this team a lot but they are 5th in win % and one of the best teams in the league and that is with poor goaltending
All that may be true but that doesn’t change the fact that we have crap goal tending and in a 7 game series that is the kiss of death

Saturday night against your oldest rival after a couple of days rest. Absolutely no excuse for not playing to the best of their abilities and beating an inferior team.

Looking past today to tomorrow is the obvious one. We've seen this story before.

I think Kallgren plays well and it's a uneventful 4-1 win.

After tonight. Very important not to lose games like tonight against shitty opponents.

Wouldn't call this one easy. St.Louis has them playing hard and respectable. Play down to the opponent like usual and it'll be a quick 0-2 after 1st period since Leafs games are their version of Stanley Cups. They'll be coming out flying.

Habs have been way better than their record suggests since St.Louis took over. The boys need to show up on time ready to play. They're a young hungry team playing for pride, we need to come out strong for 60 mins. It's not going to be easy.

disagree. doesnt matter who we face in round 1. nor does home ice. in fact, id rather start on the road - pressure is on the home team. only games that will get us battle tested and playoff ready are the ones against playoff teams, especially the top 3 in our division. the rest are just filler/bragging rights. we're not going to learn anything about this team from beating bottom feeders like the scabs.
1st in the division is still well within reach. We have 2 games with the panthers coming up, those are going to be massive. And another game against Tampa. I want this team to finish 1st in the Atlantic and it is very possible. If we can grab 4 points this weekend, that'll be massive. We could potentially be 3 points back of Florida by tomorrow night, and we still have another head to head match up still on the schedule.

I wouldn't mind an overtime win tonight, but it's got to look right. See if Montreal can make some head way and pile on a useless point and hurt their draft position vs Seattle and Arizona.

Is it that important? The east playoff picture presents us with a couple likely options and the top 8 is basically locked into a playoff spot.

I just want to see them play well.

The best way I can put it is wins in the regular season don't matter, but losing does. It sounds completely counterintuitive, but with the division locked up last year, the Leafs dropped a couple of casual games vs Winnipeg and Ottawa before the playoffs started. Winning them wouldn't have changed anything, but losing them seemed to be a sign that the team had a 'flip the switch' mentality and ultimately they weren't able to flip it when it mattered most.

But when you're talking about a team that is playing well, the W's will follow vs a team like Montreal tonight.

Yes it’s important to finish as high in the standings as possible

Booting Mikheyev off PP2 isn't good PR, but I'm glad they're more about things that aren't PR. If Mikheyev wanted out for not getting enough opportunity, before, he really has to feel slighted now.

Not a fan of the dual Dmen on PP2. To me, that's saying we believe you're more likely to get scored upon than score, so we'll throw out a D pair. I can read the explanation, but where has that been the entire time Keefe has been here. Why do they care about D pairs after PP all of a sudden?

Why do you feel the need to always put a pessimistic spin on everything?

Hopefully they realize they're usually crap on Sunday games and put in maximum effort tonight.

Yep, I think most Leaf fans know what the main reason will be for our 1st round exit this year, and I don't think it will be lack of scoring this time and I pray its not because we got out coached again eventually you have to be able to grow as a coach).

The system we play simply does not allow us to be structurally sound in our own end, with out that structure goalies like Mrzaek are easy pickings. He over plays the shooter, assuming there will never be a cross ice or cross crease pass. We don't have the type of players from top to bottom that understands how to play without the puck.

Really we don’t?

Every line but our 4th line wins their matchup, meaning they are playing strong two-way hockey.

At full health our D has only 1 player who is suspect defensively, and funny enough that’s our #1D who is still above average.

In fact, we are structurally sound defensively AND have the proper players for it. Our only reason for defensive uncertainty is solely on goaltending.

Just out of curiosity though, where do you think our holes are defensively?
