LolIf Better Call Käll even just has one good game left in him, I sure hope it's tonight.
Winning this game without Matthews would be absolutely huge.

What is the biggest difference between this year and last for the Flames? Markstrom has gotten back to the elite, consistent level he showed before signing with the Flames. Guy has 9 shutouts already, it's insane.

It doesn't hurt to be put into any easy division.Flames are just better across the board than last year. Coaching has made a huge difference.
5v5 they've gone from good (#8 53.4xgf%) last year to elite this year (#1 56.5xgf%).
on the PP they've gone from mediocre/poor (#19 6.65gf/60, #18 6.56xgf/60) last year to good this year (#10 8.62gf/60, #6 8.57xgf/60).
on the PK they've gone from good (#10 6.26xga/60) to elite (#2 5.28xga/60).
and yes they've also gone from bad goaltending (#25 89.77) to excellent goaltending (#3 91.57).
Just improved right across the board.
What Freddy seems to be implying when Babcock was his coach, and Lou Lam who brought him to Toronto when things were going well, but post management change the last few years wasn't so great for him.
It's pretty normal for a player to not "enjoy" a period of time when their game completely fell apart and they played like hot garbage. This just sounds like Andersen still struggles with taking responsibility for his level of play. Glad we moved on from him. What Freddy seems to be implying when Babcock was his coach, and Lou Lam who brought him to Toronto when things were going well, but post management change the last few years wasn't so great for him.
Who knows what he is referring to exactly. But the fanbase certainly was pretty hard on him, when he didn't close out playoff series, and let in stinker goals.
the fanbase worshipped him.
For a time for sure. When it didn't go well, not so much.
Just came across this. Keefe doesn't get 1 lick of respect for how he's managed the horrible shitshow of goaltending issues/defense and still keeping the Leafs in a top-5 spot. Seems like he never will either. Gallant being nominated is hilarious. Shersterkin might win him that trophy single handedly.
This may be a potential playoff matchup.
took a good 2 years of crap play for the fans to finally lose their patience.
He was always a little bit of a prickShots fired at Dubas/Keefe![]()
Andersen had a pretty solid SV% against CBJ; it wasn't his fault that the 50% of the cap did not show up to score goals
Andersen played pretty well most of that series, but had a habit of poorer play in elimination games. I mean we could talk about his 0.905 save percentage, and letting in that soft goal, but in the end... when we score nothing, it doesn't matter.
thats precisely the point. Offense has to show up. Even against the habs matthews and marner were kept to the outside most of the series. If Nylander wasnt scoring habs could have easily embarassed the Leafs badly
