This team loves making it hard on themselves for no reason

If we played up to the level we should we'd be in the hunt for 1st in the conference and a chance to avoid playing one of TB/FLA/CAR in round one. Yet here we are

Thank God you created this, didnt need to learn how to speak Game of thrones or Gangstas and twerks and Sires and other bullshit.

Should be a good game tomorrow, I know its a rare thing for Keefe to do, but hes gonna need to have this team flyin out of the gate. and be on their toess in our end. God knows when Svechnikov will try to attempt The Michigan again.

No, I cannot but I have coach corner on ignore. Clicking the link leads to an error page. Also, I cannot unhide threads by ignored posters like on the old site.

Logging out and and viewing the page still doesn’t let me view the thread. Only unignoring CC am I able to. I suspect many others are having this as well.

Second in GF in the first period, middle of the pack in goals against (between Colorado and Tampa), I think when we have a bad start it is just amplified because it is negative, but we seem to do better in the first 20 than most teams.

For sure. And, a loss by the Leafs tonight makes that likelier. Given a pick of: FLA, TAM, BOS or CAR...I'd pick Carolina. To me, that 4 seed is much more attractive than 3. If Leafs can't win the division, 4 seed may end up a gift horse. Of course, deadline acquisitions could change preferences.

How the hell do you have Brunette over him? After Quenneville (who had to resign for obvious reasons) turned the Panthers around and been playing elite hockey for over a year, he basically inherited a team that was already at its peak. This wasnt the usual story about a team faltering and a coach coming in and doing well. It was just more of the same .

Brunette's record since he was hired and XGF%:
xGF%: 55.63
Record: 34-13-6 (.698)


Keefe's record since that date (and Keefe has a nearly 3 year record of excellence) :
xGF%: 56.10
Record: 35-13-4 (.712)

It is what it is though. Kinda fitting the most disrespected star in the league plays for the most disrespected coach.

Saying I don’t have Keefe in my top 4 for the Jack Adams is a long long ways from disrespecting him. You need to step away from the ledge lol.

Florida’s results speak for themselves when that team could have easily taken a step back when Quenville had to resign.

Fwiw, I think Keefe is right there. I just don’t think it’s at all egregious to have all those names, minus Gallant, ahead of Keefe

Not on a ledge, and not specifically directed at you but just pointing out having Brunette on that list makes zero sense unless Keefe is on the list. Keefe is the winningest active coach, he turned things around for the franchise when he took over and has a better record than Brunette since Brunette was hired with better system stats. Brunette was already an assistant there too so it was just more of the same. He didnt have to fix anything or change, he just needed to continue the same system he was already involved in.

Regardless of anyone else, I cannot think of a legitimate reason to have Brunette above Keefe....none....Numbers, record and longevity are all in Keefe's favor.

So why the hell would anyone have Brunette near the Adams above Keefe.

It's hard to find an analogy here but theres a better argument for Marner being nominated for the Hart (2nd in PPG in the NHL since Brunette was hired) trophy than Brunette for the Adams.

Freddy will be looking to prove we made a mistake, let's give the kid the support he needs just like last game.

If he wins tonight against a strong team, keep rolling with him and with 22 games left maybe we'll have the next Hamburglar in the making.

This award is just the "who got good/surprising goaltending". On awards night they should really just call up Markstrom or Shesterkin to receive the award on behalf of their coach.

For the Rangers/Shesterkin sure, but I don’t know how anyone could seriously sit here and insinuate Calgary isn’t a very well coached team this year under Sutter. Seems to me like he should be the front runner for the Jack Adams

What is the biggest difference between this year and last for the Flames? Markstrom has gotten back to the elite, consistent level he showed before signing with the Flames. Guy has 9 shutouts already, it's insane.

I think that’s overly simplistic. Markstrom is playing better individually, but Calgary’s team game has improved dramatically from last year as well. I don’t know maybe I’m wrong though, Vladars numbers do fall quite a ways from Markstroms
