I just don't get it. He was starting to look good there too. He and Sandin should be playing most, if not every game and then you make Dermott/Holl fight for that last spot.

Sandin and Liljegren are too important to this team once Brodie and Muzzin are gone to be wasting a prime opportunity like Liljegren had there briefly on somebody of Justin Holls ability.
Not defending because I have had issues with how they have handled Liljegren but the following might explain this.

They could do 11 and 7 but Keefe was pretty honest that he doesn't like it, and really it's just probably a short term thing. Lilly will get in pretty soon.

This is probably the game to do it if you want to ice 7 dmen. Don't play again till Tuesday so you can play the big guys a little more and the forward lines are already in the blender with the bodies out of the lineup.

If the PP scores a couple goals without Mitch will this send a message to management? I'm not ripping on Mitch, our defense will suffer and he deserves to play on the first line. I do think for whatever reasons he bogs down the PP. If they do score PP goals tomorrow and he stays on the first team PP upon his return it will concern me the team is more worried about Mitch's ego than winning games.

Big time challenge. Campbell is going to need to be on point to give the boyz a chance to win. The Avs d activate like crazy...

Colorado is rolling. This is gonna be tough.

Holl has been playing pretty good the last few games. it looks like Muzzin and him got there mojo back. Too bad about Liljegren sitting but having this kind of dept is good. Liljegren will be rotated in. After our top 7 there is a big gap down to Biega, Rubins or Menell.

Yep, the past two games have seen Holl get strong results defensively, Muzzin in his first game back also played very well. I want Lilly to play too but at the end of the day I'd rather all of our defensemen be feeling it than have very obvious struggles from some guys.

Yeah I agree. I want Lilly in but there isn't a need to change it up. Both games we have been pretty good defensively. The first period against the Oilers wasn't good but we responded well after that.

Hopefully the PCR test comes back negative for Marner and Engvall like it did for Matthews.

Especially Marner because you can replace Engvall in the lineup with Nick Ritchie for a couple games and be fine, it's not like Engvall provides a lot of offense he doesn't.

But Marner is different you can get by the Oilers without Marner, they didn't have to but they could, you can get by the Senators without Marner, they didn't have to but they could.

But the Avs? they are a different level than Edmonton or Ottawa it's going to be tough against the Avs without Marner.

The PP is going to have to have a big night and considering the Avs have a 73% PK that's possible.

The PP and Jack Campbell are going to be key tonight.

That's always true but it's especially true for tonight.

Both have minor symptoms so doubt it.

Marner and Engvall were put in protocol. They have it. Matthews was only held back for precautionary reasons waiting for his PCR test. No similarity.
