Not a fan that we keep recalling Clifford and rotating between him and Simmonds.

Joey Anderson needs to be given a shot.

This is the exact same thing happend last year. We didn't give our young kids enough opportunities to play.
Instead we had Simmonds(who also sucked last year) JT, Vessey and Boyd filling the bottom 6

Somewhere in the cracks someone like Marchement got away. Maybe if we had given him a longer look we would have found another decent player
We gave Engvall an opportunity and he matured big time

Leafs needs to start doing what's right. Play the players that can contribute or has an upside

It's time Simmonds gets dropped. Keep him on the team, just dont' play him

Really hope we show up for this one. Don’t care if we get embarrassed by garbage teams like Montreal as long as we play well and beat the good ones.

TBL 21: #8 OFF / #6 DEF
TBL 20: #1 OFF / #9 DEF
STL 19: #15 OFF / #6 DEF
WSH 18: #9 OFF / #15 DEF
PIT 17: #1 OFF / #17 DEF
Pretty shocked that Washington was only #15. Trotz had them playing like the best defensive team in the league, even OV bought into it, eye test > stats for me always.

I envy the Bruins. I always have

That organization is what I want the Leafs to be someday. A no nonsense hockey first organization
Bruins always comes of as the team plays the game the right way. Sure they have some cheap shot artists, but so did we with Tucker and Corson
Hardwork and effort over talent

Start from the back. Goalie first, then get D. You have that, you always have a chance of winning games

A team that's been model of consistency for the last decade

yes they consistently have not won a cup over the last decade. I'll envy Tampa if we're choosing teams

I don't think the Leafs want to risk exposing Anderson to waivers at all in the event that they are healthy. He's definitely someone I feel like they want for next season, or maybe as a call-up for the playoffs.

But I agree. Anderson has been severely under utilized this season on the Leafs. He needs a long deserved look next season.

The Bruins have been home for a week and last played Saturday afternoon.

As someone noted, this is the Leafs 3rd game in 4 nights...and they're on the road.

Obviously, this is set up from a rest standpoint to heavily favor Boston.

Saw the Bruins Tampa game and Boston dominated that one. If not for Vasilevskiy it would've been a blowout. And, 88 gave up a cheapie amidst his great play.

In Bruins last two games they outshot Tampa 39-24 and NYI 44-27. That's a huge disparity. Mrazek will have his work cut out for him. It will really be a challenge for our newly revamped D corps. The Isles and Bolts are ranked 6th and 7th, respectively, in GA per game. Toronto is 17th. Boston is 5th.

The Bruins are hot right now, winners of 14 of last 17. The Leafs are not, just 6-6 in March mostly against lower tier opponents. I think that is the biggest factor of them all. Plus, Pasta, our main nemesis, is en fuego with 4 goals in his last two games.

I expect the Leafs to be good for a stretch in the beginning but fade as the game gets later.

This one has the feel of one that could easily get out of hand but I expect the Leafs to keep it relatively close but come up short. A win by the Leafs would really be quite the statement.

Woah the two teams have the exact same record going into tonight, including ROW. I'm assuming the Leafs are still in 3rd because of goal differential?

You have to respect the Bruins killer instinct quality to them. Despite showing signs of a team probably slowly losing it's steam of being a contender year in and out, they have roared back to being the team we all know. Amazing what good goaltending can do.

This game tonight should be a good one. I hope the Leafs come ready. Not the end of the world if they win/lose, but I think it would go a long way to really play well against a red hot team and this being the 3rd game in 4 nights.

Considering how games are officiated and how much worse it gets in the playoffs; I see literally no reason to not build a great special teams (we have that) and then abuse the other team. With the end result being nearly always an even trade off in penalties called, there is no harm at all.

Toronto definitely needs to bring a heavier game. The team doesn't have much in the way of sandpaper. If Anderson was going to come up and play a role, maybe he would be better than Simmonds. But, from my views of Anderson, he does not want to play a physical game. I think Simmonds could do more physically and he's not been a good enough player, but the Leafs as a group need that type of presence in the lineup. I do wonder if they try out someone new in his role next year, but he's all they got right now.

At full health I don't think Simmonds plays. But, Anderson isn't going to bring that element to Toronto and they need it. They're last in fights and near the bottom in hits, though they are getting better in that area. Simmonds leads in fights and hits and produces at about the same rate as many of those type of players. Not to say I don't like Anderson, I think the Leafs lose him on waivers at the start of next season, he's NHL ready.

This might be the most excited I've been for a game all year. Certainly up there. I really want to see what this group is made of going into a hostile environment against a red hot divisional rival. The media can try and make the Florida Panthers a divisional rival all they want, but there is just zero history between those to 2 teams at this point. Our franchise, and this core group have damaged memories against the Bruins, and as far as I am concerned this is the team I want to face in the playoffs the most. Not because I think they are the best matchup, because I oddly think we matchup best against FLA. I just think part of this group maturing fully will be about exercising demons of the past. As hard as another loss to the Bruins would be, it really could propel this group to a confidence they've never had.

tonight we'll get a taste of what this group is actually about. They'll have to beat the Bruins in their barn, all while the Bruins are playing their best hockey all year. If we can get the 2 points tonight, it will give this group the belief that they can do it over and over again come May.

If Abruzzese gets the call tonight, which I'd imagine he will being that he played college puck in Boston, this will be the baptism of fire he needs. I am really excited to see what he can do. He is an incredibly smart player, and I really do believe he has an NHL future.

Lets get the 2 tonight in regulation!!

Lmao you acting like they won Multiple cups over the last decade.

An overrated franchise who got the refs in the backpocket. That's just the city of Boston in general.

People often confuse being physical with being good defensively. Their underlying numbers were even worse (much worse) than their goals against numbers, too.

If anyone is coming out of the Lineup, it should be Spezza.

I'm tired of this fanbase treating him like some Make-a-wish kid every time he gets scratched like it's such a terrible thing to do. "Waaaa he's a veteran". "Waaaa he chose us over anyone else" "Waaaa He's a good old Canadian Pro".

The dude is Washed and slow. I'm all for his leadership but that should be coming from the locker room. The only skill he has (some nice dangles here and there and some random goals)...is something we have enough in the top 9.

Our 4th line needs speed, Agitation and toughness. Blackwell - Abbruzze - Simmonds

Bruins fan here. Good luck, gang. These are always good games. Looking forward to this one tonight!

(Sorry, sometimes I linger around here and post in the Blue Jays thread, haha)
