"KEEP MY TOP PROSPECT NAME OUTTA YOUR f***ING MOUTH"

Boston's team defence is absolutely insane 5 on 5 and on the PK.

this is why I just don't get spending a bunch of assets for the right to sign Lindholm to a 8 year deal. They were literally already the best defensive team in the league AINEC. Their system can make guys like Grzelcyk and Mike Reilly produce incredible defensive numbers. It's like they're tripling down on their biggest strength instead of trying to fix their most obvious weakness, that their offensive game isn't on the level of the other good Atlantic teams.

They have some good upcoming prospects. They are also doubling down on what worked for ever since they got Chara. A good sound defensive team starting from the back. They don't have Rask type of goalie anymore. Not sure how good Jeremy will be for them

But they know they are comfortable in 2-1 or 3-2 games. To me it was a very good bet in Lindholm who is still young without giving up anyone valuable

They desperately needed a bigger, left shot defender capable of being the 25+ minute guy in the playoffs. McAvoy has been taking a beating this season.

I would've preferred them to chase a legitimate top 6 C/RW, but the forward v D acquisition was a 1a v 1b situation in terms of priority. Truthfully, I probably wouldn't have traded for Lindholm at all unless I had a deal secured on a forward as well. For me it was always both, or neither. This Bruins team has never felt worthy of that 1 singular "all in" type trade. Then again, Haula has had some great success with Hall and Pastrnak recently, and Debrusk hasn't been a total anchor with Bergeron and Marchand, so I think even the most pessimistic fans like myself are starting to feel at least somewhat ok with the prospect of a decent playoff showing.

Regardless, this division is f***ing loaded. Pick your poison.

Little of topic but anyone wish they could be a fly on the wall when the two Kyles meet face to face at the GM meetings?
It will not be a pleasant chat but I am assuming they'll put things under the bridge. The GMs have to be cordial regardless of how they feel, in the past, it was more of...Imma kick your ass you POS and a lot of talks.

Honestly Dreger must have felt so happy he got some inside info after the Leafs barely let anything out.

there defensive prospects are all kind of garbage so they needed a top dman going forward into future years to come . That move protected their top pair for the next 8 years with mcavoy 9.5 mil dollar coming into effect

I hope Keefe continues to keep Nylander and JT away from each other, short sample size, but seemed to have worked well against the Panthers. Lets see if he continues with something like this:
Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Mikheyev-JT-Kerfoot
Engvall-Kampf-Nylander
Blackwell-Spezza-Abruzzese?......literally anyone other than Simmonds

If we want a bit more offense from that 3rd line, Keefe could also go
Mikheyev-JT-Blackwell
Engvall-Kerfoot-Nylander
Spezza-Kampf-Abruzzese

Anyway, even more possibilities once Kase is back.

Nothing wrong with making a strong defence even stronger. Defence wins championships.

Although to my surprise they did sit Simmonds a few games, but they gotta stop with the playing the vet regardless of performance crap. They need WN and JT going in the playoffs - we'll see if Keefe goes back to this "optimal lines", which really are not optimal

Love the Leafs chances if the Bruins "fuel up" with Marchand's new cereal... You're supposed to lick it, not eat it, smash someone in the face with a stick, then cry.
