The stubbornness with Holl is annoying. It’s yet another jake gardener situation.

Guy makes bone head mistakes, management digs their heels in to stick it to everyone and eventually he loses the game for you.

Problem is that Sandin is slow so if there is a bobble at the blueline there might be a breakaway the other way.
No question that offensively he’s way more of a threat .

The reality is who's your alternate option until Lilly comes back? or even Benn

He's the only NHLer on roaster and right handed
 
He’s a nightmare! He generally always has been and will continue to be. If his playoff lapses aren’t enough, god hell this management group.

I think Holl is #7 when we are fully healthy, I think the coaching staff has fallen out of love with him, except when Liljegren was trash in the playoffs last year.

Matthews feels wasted on the point. It’s just not exactly his wheelhouse to score on a blast from the point that way. He can do it but there are sweeter spots.

He literally had a near identical start last year and easily won the rocket. He also easily could've had 3-5 more goals if not for a few good saves and a bunch of posts... and if those did trickle in, nobody would be saying anything right now.

The team has really fallen into an NBA style of having a handful of superstars and just bench guys. I think about the wrong bets on Murray Muzzin and that’s over $9 million that could have bought a middle class that plays.

Put him in Rielly’s spot. So tired of his muffin point shots that usually just hit shin pad anyway.

There are certain things that NHL fans fixate on way too much and a heavy point shot is one of them.

Our top two PP options of the 21st century have been Kaberle and Rielly. Rielly very rarely takes a slapshot/one-timer, but he does his job extremely well which is distributing the puck and then getting the puck on net for rebounds/deflections. He was a big part of one of the best PP units of all time last year.

Would everybody rather we have Phaneuf back on the point?!
 
Marners coasting is hurting not only Matthews but the entire team. His mouth and his bad play has made him a pariah with the fans and, most likely, the coaching staff. He needs a reboot! And that reboot should be in the butt right outa town.
