I love Hyman but without him it feels like Matthews/Marner have went into the corners and fought for pucks more. They're absolutely relentless on the forecheck

IMO Bunting is a better passer and more of a pest. Hyman was stronger in the corners and a better maintaining possession.

I knew Bunting was a decent player, but he has really gelled with the top line. He's also tenacious which forces teams to take penalties to slow him down.

Infinetly better passer for sure. Better hands and probably better or at least even hockey IQ. Someone else made a great comment about reading the other guys and knowing when to get involved and how deep. I wish we had both Bunting and Hyman, but that is way she goes... Bunting has been better than expected and is very consistent in how he plays.

I legit thought they would get humiliated by a good Wild team tonight...happy they won.

Matthews covers up a lot of bad for this team.

You could say the second line started to "look" better but it's still a problem.

That felt like a tighter checking low chance playoff style game.

Matthews took control and was fantastic putting the team on his back and willing it victory.

It's interesting how the Leafs can just not have it in a game vs Montreal and just never get in the right head space but against Minnesota they seemed completely dialed in to the man because it's a more hyped opponent. Just keep the switch flipped on.

I really really enjoyed this game. Was expecting it to be wide open but i like seeing us adjust to a cat and mouse game.

They had Simmonds out there for a random shift and I thought he connected with Tavares a bit down low on a couple of nice back and forths. Maybe they just need to go speed and attack between Nylander and Kerfoot and leave Tavares to do those gutty things in tight, get him away from open space.

A good low scoring eventless game for us to win tonight, so many times in the past years we were on the other end of the these games and losing them, Matthews is a beast, his two way game and ability to score is elite.

The D looks way better with Dermott in it over Holl, Lillypad played real well tonight as well.

Missed the game again but sounded like it was a solid playoff style win.

also I don’t want to take credits but I think playing on NHL 22 last night helped the Leafs, lol.
