Funny how Ritchie, the exact type of player we needed was given such a short leash last year but other guys like Malgin, ZAR and Engvall are given endless opportunities
"exact type of player we needed" A guy who plays like he's half his size and skates in quicksand?

He may have changed his style after the trade but he showed NOTHING here with some prime linemates.

He could have been a good, though high priced 3rd liner and PP net presence specialist on the PP. We seem to not value different aspects of the game, to the point of it almost being a phobia. Though Dubas did pick up a more.valuable though temporary player in Lybushkin.

Nylander seems to be taking advantage of his weird skating stride more this year. Looks like he isn't trying and then he just ramps it up and blows by the defender.

Ritchie was given a month on the top line and was horrible.

Malgin has been great, he looks better than Ritchie ever did here. While Engvall hasn't been great this year, and ZAR started off rough both add good penalty killers.

Even those subtle plays that Sandin makes like he just did there in the defense zone are extremely concerning to me.

Just forces an unnecessary play in his own zone with plenty of time. Not a fan of his game this season at all
