At the end of the day the team that scores more wins. I would easily put my money on Toronto beating this Boston team in the playoffs. Infact I don't even think it would go 7 games this time around.
We'll see. I'll believe that our Leafs will beat Boston in a playoff series, when I see them beat Boston in a playoff series. Until then, I'll remain skeptical. Boston hit what, 4 posts tonight? That game could have been very, very close in the scoring department, with Boston having the physical edge.

I'm not under-estimating them.

Giordano still has it. He's definitely the next vet who is signing for cheap (2-2.5M ish)

If he can stay and play at a high level for another 2 years, it would turn a good trade into an incredible trade.
I'd push really hard to get him for a couple more seasons at $1.0 per year. That would be an enormous help to the team's cap situation.

We must have watched two different games. McAvoy ran over everyone he hit. Forbort put multiple guys on the ice. Clifford got bodied multiple times. Kampf got hammered. The same was true of Tavares, Kerfoot, etc...

Toronto tossed hits back, but other than the Holl hit on the end boards and the Lyubushkin hit on Hall prior to the suckered punch, Boston's physicality was much more punishing than Nutting the Leafs dished out.

Doesn't take away from the win, but ask yourself this. How many Leafs would be out if what we saw tonight was a 7 game series? Boston played much heavier. Even guys like Pasternak finish their hits aggressively.
Hits didn't injure anyone tonight cheap shots did

We played like half the game with 4 D and Kallgren wasn't particularly good.

a f***en sucker punch in f***en 2022 and he doesnt get tossed from the game ........ what a f***en joke this league is
I have seen the bias too long and previously lost my cool here. Multiple infractions! Now, it's just it is what it is. We have to be the caravan that moves along and the dog can bark all it wants.

Hard to say, Bruins weren't really in the game playing that way.
How many games can they do that before they have to start playing to win?
The two Leafs who got knocked out had nothing to do with the Bruins tough play, unless you think sucker punching is tough hockey? Holl's injury had nothing to do with Bruin toughness.

Bruins had the equivalent of a whole bunch of activity for no results.

Not an easy win due to all of the injuries sustained. Decent enough effort for Kallgren in relief. That was indeed a "big four" on defence. Good to see Blackwell given a greater opportunity than he's had thus far.

Taylor Hall is a btch and a coward.

Too afraid to stand up to Lyub and fight 1:1.

He had to Bertuzzi him.

That has to be one the NHL acts on and suspends him.

They've been in the water before on these types of incidents.

Bad look if they don't.

Holl lub updates?????
I saw Holl walking around in the background during an in game interview. Puck must have been moving, hit his hemet but still caused a gash somewhere. Gut feeling says he'll be fine. Lyubushkin, though, that was a shot to the jaw, probably concussed. big loss, he's been great. Hope for the best but his looks worse than Holl's.

Mrazek can't catch a break. Who's going to backup Kallgren? We'll see Carl Dahlstrom on D in next game I guess. Against his old team too.

Boston fans are hilarious.

"If Campbell goes down in the playoffs, they're toast".

GEE such INTELLIGENCE in these fans.

Any team in the playoffs that loses their #1 will increase their chances of being "toast".

These fans are really 2 brain cells smart.

Edit: Maybe 2 is being generous.
I am pretty share that they take turns sharing the one brain cell.

Again, I'll definitely take the win. It was an excellent effort, against a team that is really stingy defensively.

But I maintain that I'll believe the Leafs can handle the Bruins in a playoff series, when they actually get by them. As we've learned in recent years, the more talented team (which I believe we are) can be neutralized pretty effectively in a playoff series. Style of play + whistles being swallowed, can be pretty powerful.

Gio has been a fantastic pickup. Lil just gets more and more confident, what a treat to watch.

Too big wins, I’m a sucker but this year feels different. Just need some goaltending.

Taylor Hall is the ultimate loser. His teams are usually 100% garbage and besides his fluke Hart Trophy his only claim to fame is getting his team 1st overall picks because of the loser culture he instills on the team

Something about those fans and the people that live in that city. It's unreal. When I think of Boston, I think of that exact stereotypical guy they kept showing in the crowd after the 4th goal, Dave Portnoy and Pete Blackburn. Just absolute scum of the earth people.

They'll be cheap AND physical for every single playoff game. It's a huge part of their style of play and it's worse come the playoffs, when they know that they can get away with murder.

Our guys are going to have to endure a very, very physical series should the two teams meet up.

I don't know how his legs hold up but Gio is a guy you go into the foxhole with. I have no problems with those type of guys on our team. Fantastic pick up.
