Post-Game Talk: Leafs slap Boston a lot harder than Will Smith slapped Chris Rock. 6-4 Win.

We must have watched two different games. McAvoy ran over everyone he hit. Forbort put multiple guys on the ice. Clifford got bodied multiple times. Kampf got hammered. The same was true of Tavares, Kerfoot, etc...

Toronto tossed hits back, but other than the Holl hit on the end boards and the Lyubushkin hit on Hall prior to the suckered punch, Boston's physicality was much more punishing than Nutting the Leafs dished out.

Doesn't take away from the win, but ask yourself this. How many Leafs would be out if what we saw tonight was a 7 game series? Boston played much heavier. Even guys like Pasternak finish their hits aggressively.

At the end of the day the team that scores more wins. I would easily put my money on Toronto beating this Boston team in the playoffs. Infact I don't even think it would go 7 games this time around.

The Leafs are more responsible when Kallgren is in goal. He's a rookie and none of the players want to be seen loafing or cherry picking. Kallgren brings better karma, makes us tougher to play against. Campbell is still our number1. I just like how we play with the kid in goal.

They did lose the game and decide to just play to injure. If we play them in the playoffs we'll need more jam out there.
Exactly my point. In a 6 or 7 game playoff series they'll play like that the entire time and the refs will make about half the calls they did tonight, which wasn't many in the first place. The guys are going to have to bring that type of offense, but step it up considerably in the physicality department as well.

You can't tell me that what we saw out of Kyle Clifford tonight couldn't be bettered by Curtis Douglas, who would at least bring a physical, intimidating style to the rink.

@Stephen regarding this
“Kallgren was good. Leafs were down on the back end and played very well in the third.”

100% you’re right. Super proud of the leafs, great win with 4 d man most of the game and Mrazek injured. What a win! Kallgren played mostly well, I just didn’t like the 3rd or 4th goal, those were frustrating But you’re right. Cheers

Didn't think the 3rd goal was bad. Weird bounce off the boards and Lazar just got enough on it. 4th goal....maybe

But my takeaway is that his rebound control seems to be getting better every game. Liked how he was directing shots to the boards and not leaving juicy rebounds in front of the net.

Forget Taylor Hall. He was the guy we didn't go after at the deadline last season. The guy WE did trade a FIRST round pick for plays on Boston's fourth line. That's the crime.

Note, both Petruzzelli and Hutch aren't in the Marlies lineup tonight and they had to sign TWO guys to ATO's just to play the game tonight.

So we might not be able look to the Marlies, if Mrazek is out for very long. I'm not actually sure what they are going to do. Or, they pulled them from the lineup, to ensure they can send us back a goalie or two??

Two fluke goals in the third. This game wasn’t close. Leafs dominant from pick drop.

B’s had a full lineup and still couldn’t beat a third string goalie.
He was technically our 5th goalie coming into the season.

Campbell
Mrazek
Hutchinson
