Don't get me wrong.....I know the trouble we are in with goalies right now but I did smirk a bit when Kaalgren had to come in net. Only because just before that Mrazek was again playing too wide in his crease and overshooting. Right after that it seemed like some stability occured.

Saying that however I did notice as the game went on that Kaalgren himself was playing too much on his knees and leaving over his shoulder open for some mesh movement. Hopefully he can correct it because I did start to see Boston trying to come in on those side angles to try and expose that.

I thought Lyb did hit the numbers but Hall did turn. What blew me away was the pillow punch actually put the big boy down! I hope he truly rebounds as I thought for sure he was just trying to draw an extra penalty.

And who cares if we accept a blood bath meeting with the Ruins. That could be just the thing the doctor ordered for our team to gather round to go all the way. ALL OR NOTHING! That is where we are at. Screw Boston. Nice to see their little streak end up in the back of their shorts. GLG!

I think the league is telling everyone that you can not blind hit someone if you are moving but you can blind sucker punch someone if you are at a standstill. Glad to see player safety is the top priority for the league.

Exactly. The crap refs let go later in game is nothing compared to playoffs. Until Leafs lineup has the proper mix of fightback & talent, success in playoffs won't happen. If you notice, Marchand takes liberties with all leaf players except maybe Giardano because he'll give it back to him. Scouting report on Leafs can't be, play physical, intimidate & you'll beat them.

I mean, I concede that they didn't wilt like they have many times in the past against these guys, but they sure didn't punch back and they were getting run left and right without any recourse, which is the same old song and dance for this team. And of course, the one guy who delivers some much needed heat to the Bs gets sucker-punched which could have lasting physical and emotional effect on a player who plays heavy like Boosh.

I've always much preferred the heavy play style of a Bruins, Lightning, Florida (this year), or Flyers of yesteryear over finesse/skill like we have, which is of course subjective and debatable as to which style has more success when it really matters. Ideally, you have a legit 50/50 mix of both, like TB has had for a few years now, but that's damn tough to achieve. I don't believe the Bs have near enough skill/talent to win it all, so there's much further on the heavy side of the scale than they should be IMO. I personally think they take us in 7 again by grinding it out, getting some luck, but no way they take a much better balanced team like TB or FLA, even Carolina.

We blew them out 6-1, that's the message. They couldn't handle our speed and skill. Only reason the game got close is the leafs were in survival mode with only 4D and a 4th string rookie in net

And the Leafs were physical, they just weren't stupid. Boston was clearly rattled by us which led to the Hall play and Marchand getting a misconduct

I'd like to see Douglas on the 4th Line with Blackwell and Spezza. Give him a few games to see if he can keep up on the 4th line. That would be a player not many teams have an answer for if he can keep up.

One thing I'll say is Boston's defense is butter soft. Going into the corner against these guys isn't a tough event like it used to be with Chara, Seidenberg, Boychuk etc.

Matthews/Marner would have a field day forechecking against them in the postseason

It's clear at this point the Leafs can beat any team. The key will be bringing the intensity every game and showing they can withstand potentially 7 physical/dirty games in a series.

You played like shit, because the Leafs made you look like shit. All while playing with 4 defensemen for 25 mins and a 3rd string goaltender for 50 mins.

The Bruins are a good team, and they came to play yesterday. Unfortunately they played a team that was better in every aspect. They had 2 goals go in off of unintentional deflections, 1 off a lively end board and 1 that should have been goalie interference. This was not a 6-4 final. This was more like 6-2 if they didn't get as many fortunate bounces as they did.
