Just saw Clifford walk away from a hit from McAvoy lol. This shits coming from upstairs

You might be right. The fear mighr be retributiin or riling up the home team. Or, it might be the need to have Clifford in the lineup for a stretch, I don't know.

The other answer is that he felt it better to just play some hard minutes, avoid the penalty box, take the two points and heal the injuries up.

I'm almost positive Sheldon told Cliff that he wasn't to do anything stupid in the 3rd. That sequence where MacAvoy leveled him at our blueline while he was trying to pinch it out.. I totally expected Cliff to turn around and jump him.. but he didn't and just skated away. That was telling.

Still would have preferred Simmer out there tonight, though.
It was prolly the right call because we are short on our defense...dont need to do stupid things at the moment and burn the clock.

They screwed up big time signing him to that deal after watching us get burned last season with him and we screwed up by signing Nick Ritchie after watching him in Boston.

At least we fixed our mistake.

It was refreshing for our 4th line to outclass Boston's 4th line for once.

I can't see how Keefe puts Simmonds back into the lineup after their performance tonight. Clifford was pretty meh but he can at least skate and keep up with the play.

Media to McAvoy: Where did you think things went wrong?

McAvoy: Yeah. (laughs) "Kinda feels like a little bit of a blur." ---Guy looked genuinely stunned. #SpeedKills

This wasn't all that great but I found it delicious:

Leafs biggest concern..watch what happened to MacKinnon with Dumba. It can happen to AM or MM. Need more toughness to win cup.
Go Leafs

Big win!

The big question is, what the hell are the leafs gonna do for Goaltending come playoff time? None of the Toronto goaltenders are any good. What the heck are they planning to do?

Great effort. Great team win. Can’t say enough good things about the game tonight.

No sympathy for Taylor Hall, you don’t punch someone from behind end of story. The fact Lyubushkin didn’t come back makes it far worse. Clown move. I love seeing the Bruins take issue with officiating as no team has had officiating work for them more in recent years. Karma.

I also want to add how impressed I am with all our D, but especially Liljegren. Impressive showing from him tonight being one of 4 defencemen left.

Nothing. You either float or sink with the guys you have now.

Yeah, Simmonds should not be in the roster. He is too slow and makes the team worse.

Perhaps he could be useful in a physical series against Boston?

Boston fans be like : LeAfS aReNt CoNtEnDErS

Just need some solid goaltended and we on our way

I do think he could be a nice 13th forward to fill in for a game or two in a series like that. He'll bring some physicality if he can keep pace. Guy probably needs some rest.

Solid hockey played by Buds given circumstances against Cats and Booins.

Thrilled with a huge 4 points. Hope Holl and Boosh are okay that was gutless by Hall on Boosh. Even Pasta board on Mo was equally as sickening. Mrázek with groin, which sucks big time hopefully they can be okay with Soup coming back soon and Kållgren.

the hope is that campbell becomes at least an average goalie when he comes back

Yeah maybe some rest will help him. He has a lot of mileage on him. I think it is safe to say that a Boston – Toronto series would be a physical one.

Dumb as rock Boston fans were calling Lub a diver. He never returned to game idiots!!

Calling him dirty for the hit he gave Hall too.

Lyubushkin could have drove him hard through the numbers. It was borderline. Did not deserve the response, and Pastrnak's was worse. That was right in the numbers and he had more than enough time to let up.

EDIT: Nevermind, that was a clean hit by Lyubushkin. Clearly drove him in the side after Hall was turning around.
