Is this the answer?
Chances he clears waivers?

Hey, why not throw him out vs. Florida, for his first game, and see what happens? Hard times in net in Toronto.

Seriously, though... who do you roll with? Will Jack be back for that one? He should be but do we want him to be? What if he's back for that one and it's like the first meeting with the Pens?

Every game we play has massive intrigue due to what may happen in net.

I guess you just roll with these two idk.

I think is a massive gamble however if we don't make a move at the deadline

Someone pretty please tell me he's not just another butterfly flopper who drops to his knees whenever a puck goes behind the net. I hate that technique with a passion

When he gets claimed...because you know he will
Who is the backup goalie?

Had an AWESOME olympics. going 5-0

So our solution to having the leagues worst goaltending since the new year is to sign this no namer, rely on a rookie and pray Campbell manages to return to .900 level goaltending?

Pathetic. At least we waived that trash Mrazek though. I’ll give Dubas credit for correcting his own idiocy.

What do y'all give the percentages for him to clear? 50%?
that is a question. 75% to clear sounds more right, not that many teams need to spend cap just for funsies. although watching how Dubas operates on these types of low-cost gambles, I wouldn't be surprised if he has back-up plans.

I'm bout that sire. You already knew.

We might get rid of the great mrazek and still bag a vet too  Vets LOOVE toronto. Maybe even anderson's bold eagle or Korpisalo becomes a great leaf again.

I think this signing is just some extra insurance come playoffs. I think Sateri will be our 3rd string goalie. Similar to what Rittich was last year for us.

Why are the Leafs moving on from Mrazek?

Jonas Siegel, Maple Leafs beat writer: It's pretty simple: He was not good, not at all. It would've been one thing if he was just average. He was worse than that. He was increasingly costing the Leafs game after game, surrendering goals that were barely even chances. The Leafs' offseason bet on him was not rewarded, not one bit.

Where does Sateri fit in?

Joshua Kloke, Toronto staff writer: With the Leafs seemingly having lost confidence in Mrazek's ability to win them games, Sateri becomes part of a short-term solution in goal, alongside recent call-up Erik Källgren, to see the Leafs through until Jack Campbell returns from a rib injury. On March 10, the Leafs said Campbell would be out for at least two weeks with the injury. Perhaps they're opting to play it safe and not rush Campbell back in anticipation of a heavy workload in the playoffs. That means Sateri could be in line for a few games over the next couple of weeks. That leads us to another question: Could he be able to earn the team's trust and fill the backup role for the remainder of the season when Campbell returns?

Sateri has continually put up decent numbers over his past three seasons in the KHL, with his .926 save percentage through 38 KHL games this season sixth among regular KHL goaltenders.

Sateri was great in the Olympics.

Won't be our saviour more than likely, but I guess if Mrazek is moving out at the TDL and we are not getting a goalie, we need someone to fill the spot on the depth chart.

I think we are also seeing with Mrazek that the sexy option doesn't always bring results, especially when it comes in net. When it comes down to the playoffs, it is whoever can get hot. Be it SHL champion Kallgren, Olympic Champion Sateri, or WJC champ Campbell. These guys don't need to be franchise goalies; they just need to play well behind our usually strong defense and keep us in games as much as they can (aka no weak goals).
