I love the comeback games. Especially this time of the year, it's good for the team.

I'm gonna be dropping 100 on every leafs opponent to win the series and 200 on the finals. Here's to hoping that I am going to be 500 in the hole at the end of this all. Reverse the juju.

We got this. GLG!

Nicely done boys.

You could tell they were completely gassed by the 2nd, but Kallgren was outstanding. Kid has so much poise and I think he’s our backup next season.

Nice goal by Mik and what can I say about Spezza? Love the guy. He’s all in and bleeding blue and white.

Is it just me or does Matthews look more dialed in than ever? I think he took last season personally. Guy is fighting for the puck every shift. Even taken on a playmaker dynamic this season. If him and Marner gain traction in the post season, we won't have to worry about Campbell.

I hope Ovechkin is okay. Can't imagine if Vanecek's stick would've sent Matthews flying into the boards. Caps security would have to move him into witness protection for all the outrage coming from here.

Kjallgren may have given someone a first round BYE. Didn't think he'd have much effect on the SC playoffs, but he may have swung a series he doesn't even suit up for.

this took a lot of guts to win tonight with Tavares and Bunting.

I want to see this type of guys come playoff time

do they have the guts to win then?

Nothing to say about the performance tonight by the team who you claim to cheer for though? Funny…. Such a fraud

Cherry picker. I see why you're an 88 guy. :)

I refer you to posts numbered 48 and 157 in this thread. Enjoy.

BTW, I'm so "fraud"ulent that I was watching TWO games, concurrently. I knew what a HUGE night this was for the Leafs and the ramifications of a Tampa win and a regulation loss by Toronto so I watched the Leafs and Tampa games. You do the same? Did you get it? Probably not but you can question my fandom? Rich.

PS. Don't be angry. Your tribalism and imbalance are showing.

How about the Cobra? 20-goal scorer in just 51 games. On a 32-goal pace over an 82-game season. Scored some big ones.

I don't know for sure what was in that cup, but I'm glad it helped his thumb.

Hope he wakes up with no issues.

Hardly seems fair. Who made the schedule. And alot of those games were versus tough teams!
My thoughts are that it s very fortuitous because it gets the teams mind set ready for playoff style hockey.
Tb brought it, Fla brought it, the caps were one of the hottest teams in the East going into last night's game and they brought it.
The Leafs hopefully understand that the games ahead will be harder and be mentally prepared now.
At least that is my hope

I'm the Washington feed they have an analyst that clarifies the balls and non calls. He said it was a clean play. Roughly stated since ov didn't have the puck at the time and the goalie was making a play to save a goal, no foul.

Ps I still really like dahstrom, quiet and clean game from him.
Our depth on D is pretty good is he's our #8/9

Nice come from behind win from the boys!

Kallgren looked solid too and amazing in the SO. Happy for him.

Still very concerned about the playoffs. Team just doesn't look dialed in right now and Tampa is flying. Along with the major question mark in net.
Team deserves more slack this season compared to past seasons, not too concerned about team being dialed in when it comes to the playoffs, This season they have shown after taking nights off against bad teams, that when they know they need to show up against the better teams, they do, and play fairly good/better then them as well.

Back in TO after 6 months, it’s nice to be watching a game at 7pm rather than 7am. Also nice to be chatting with some fans rather than cheering on a computer screen and having my neighbours think I’m batsh*t crazy.

Boosh’s first period deserved a medal.
Kallgren’s best?
I believe Spezza’s 500th away game point? Congrats.
Not a great game, the night before was far more entertaining, but hey a win is a win.

Reading here, I’m glad I didn’t touch the GDT :laugh: the negativity must have been overwhelming. Sometimes, a missed pass does not mean the player sucks ass.

Next up, Detroit. GLG!

Just an aside because I like to lurk on other team boards, that was the national ESPN broadcast, not our local one.

This rules analyst from ESPN has had two straight broadcasts where he’s literally dismissed potential tripping call because “it was unintentional”. I don’t know if that says something about ESPN or the level of competence with NHL officiating, but every time that guy pops up he emphasizes intent as being a deciding factor which is silly.

Good game bros, good luck in the ploffs

Maybe it is like the high sticking call, if you're in the act of shooting you can take someone's eye out and it is no call.
('cuz you know that did happen to a Leafs' player ruining his career- Berard)

And of course touch someone's glove with your stick and it is a penalty. You could probably make that call in every scrum, if you had incentive.

And we've all seen players trip themselves on someone's stick to get the call.

Not as bad as baseball where umps make their own personal strike zone.

It was nice to see no quit in the gang and a hard fought win,

Kallgren taking out OV was a major turning point in the game as it ragetted up in the intensity of the 3rd period. .

This will help in the confidence department for the Leafs after a could of tough losses to TB and Florida.

Man are people overreacting to the Florida loss

They were the better team for the full 60 minutes of regulation and lost in overtime. Kept the best offensive team in the league to 2 goals in real hockey.

If that’s a “tough loss” what would be a good loss?

Just looking at the East standings.. When was the last time all 8 teams that qualified for the playoffs in either conference all over 100+ points?

Thats actually crazy. The gap between the 8th seed and the next best team is 20 points.
I read a few days ago this will be the first time it has happened
