Mikheyev goal as he was darting around was awesome. That gave us hope.

I actually thought Kaal was going to get a penalty for tripping OV as it looked like he did trip him (he held that stick real tight) but, sometimes no calls is also what we deserve sometimes.

Matthews on the breakaway showed he isn't greedy when he fed to Marner. That kinda blew me away and it would of been a great goal,..instead it was a great save.

Real nice outing for Kaalgren and glad he stood tall in the shootout. That should boost his confo.

Sunday win,..gonna sleep good tonight!! Thanks team! GLG

Surely that is evenly countered by the fans who believe every result was the exact result we wanted? It's like a 50/50 split.

We had fans trying to convince everyone that while down 3-1, the Leafs players and management didn't care whether or not they got home ice advantage in the 1st round against the back to back Cup Champs.
Maybe so. But I’d definitely rather share a beer with one vs the other.

Life is difficult enough, I prefer my beer half full. Cheers

I yell doom and gloom because I see the same shit every single season. They put together their probably second and third worst efforts of the season in 2 out of the last 3 games. There is no 3 on 3 OT in the playoffs, no meaningless skills competition to play for a victory.

They are a tired team, respectful of that in mind. That doesn't mean they have to play without any care, drive, passion, heart or determination at all. If you play with that mindset this close to the playoffs, when the games, "that matter" are this close, then who is to say they won't be the same in a short week and some change?

I don't apologize for talking shit in the GDT because I called it like I saw it. A piss poor effort. Through 45 minutes, Matthews, Marner and Nylander had one shot on goal combined.

Spezza did tonight what he did in the post-season last year, put the team on his shoulders in the third round and delivered them 2 points along with a few other players such as Mikheyev.

Our third stringer goaltender who clearly isn't ready for the NHL put in more of an effort than 90% of the rest of the team. Without that effort, Spezza playing like a beast, this would've been 2 more points lost.

Then I hear the same shit, "Home ice doesn't matter". Yeah, that's loser's mentality that say shit like that. Florida, Tampa Bay, Boston, Carolina and other teams top in the NHL are playing fantastic hockey. No excuse to mail it in this close to the playoffs, it's a loser mentality excuse to say, "Oh, they don't care, games don't matter". That's bullshit,

I've been saying it for a few months now, my excitement for the playoffs disappeared when team save percentage was 31st for over 4 months. Campbell will do okay, but if he gets hurt or the rest of the team doesn't pick it up, it won't matter how many regular season goals Matthews, Marner and Nylander had.

I'll kick back the pessimistic outlook when they show up in the playoffs, not before.
In all seriousness. Why not find something else to do? If they bother you so much and you can't enjoy their greateat regular season ever, why bother watching?

Show up for the playoffs. It's all you care about so don't waste your time

Is this the same jackass who got his ass beat by Mike Tyson because he kept annoying him on the flight? lol

Depending how long he’s followed the team I completely understand whatever state his mental health is in
lol a sport should never make you feel like that though. i have followed them almost 40 years and at the end of the day a stanley cup would be fantastic and long awaited, but its not going to effect me in my everyday life. in reality its just more good hockey i get to watch! i get people are invested, but theres a reason you cant spell fanatic without the word fan lol, if we lose again i fully expect marner and JT and willy to get terrible terrible tweets etc by "fans". to me its really odd how people who cant even play sports can call pro athletes pathetic and disgraces etc etc. people need to enjoy life more lol, they sound miserable.

Stamkos, Kucherov, Point are waking up at the wrong time

meanwhile

Marner, Matthews, Nylander are going cold at the wrong time
No matter what...the great reset starts game 1 of the playoffs and they all work their way up from there.

and psst,...I hear you but if you look at it like this it makes it seem better

Stamkos, Kucherov are laughing right now

meanwwhile,...

Marner, Matthews, Nylander (and the rest of the boys) gonna have the last laugh later.

They didn't have it at all tonight but a huge comeback win. Now we just need a point to secure home ice because I don't think Tampa is losing a game prior to the playoffs with their schedule.

Character win today. After the mess in Tampa, we have responded with 3 points against good teams. Kallgren rebounds too. We were really tired so even more impressive the comeback. Didn't play great today but makes up for game we should have won yesterday

I have a question, may be kind of stupid but here goes. Why do we in Toronto have neutral commentators, but if you watch any other team broadcast they have commentators who are biased towards the team they work for. Why does this happen?

honestly, i just want the playoffs to start. i flipped between the game and other stuff.
i jumped back in the gdt after the game to when we were losing 3 - 1 and holy shizzzz that was brutal lol.
sounds like some fans really need a break before the playoffs too. people be losing their minds.

That was the kind of game we lose in seasons past (not last season as that was a farce). As dreadful as that game was, there is something different with this group. Not sure what it ends up meaning, but they are not the same as the teams that have lost in previous first rounds.

There is more reliable depth for sure, I mean the first line was a joke for most of the night and we pull out a 2 goal comeback with a non-NHL goalie in the net, missing our 2C, missing 2 D and Bunting. Fingers crossed we can get health for round 1 game 1.

We were giving this team sooooo much shit before the comeback. “Typical Leafs no heart” and all that. But damn if this victory doesn’t restore some faith in them, even with Tampa looking like a wagon.
It's why I wasn't too concerned with the Tampa game. Leafs made a statement to them last time and Tampa needed one. These two games were response opportunities and Leafs passed. Yesterday outplayed a great team but lost in OT. Today we had very little going for us but comeback in the 3rd and winning deserves high marks.

Worth noting Tampa went 6 and 4 over their final 10 games last season, and lost their final 3 games before starting the playoffs. Being hot or cold at the very tail end of the season probably doesn't matter all that much.

Everything is reset game 1 of the first series.
We also swept the Habs in a b2b a few games before the end of thr reg season (I think it was the 3rd and 4th last games)

to be fair, i prefer this team as an underdog as opposed to a favorite going into a series. we are gonna have to get it done eventually, and theres no better story than knocking off the 2x champs in the first round. thats a recipe for a monkey off the back/already beat the best team you will face in the POs style cup run.

GITERDONEEEEEE!

Did not deserve it, but if it is indeed true we played 6 in 9 nights then I can partially understand why we have played broken past few games.

Regardless this teams needs to shape up, and hopefully get better by next next week or it will be another predictable first round exit.
