A lot of people have slept on him for awhile. But I'm glad that he's starting to turn some heads.

Steady two way defensive game.. Good mobility... Poise .. Physical play.

Turning into a nice top 4 defender. When do we start calling him Lilyhammer?

Looks like you just started!

Their team sucks so bad that their former coach Maurice even quit on them...beyond salvageable.
They're not even close to being on the same level, if the refs called the game properly and not game management bullshit, they would've been on the penalty kill almost the entire game lol. There was a good 5-6 missed calls just in the 3rd period.

Wonder when the suspensions will be handed down for the crosscheck to the back of Bunting's head, the crosscheck to the face of Holl in a defenseless position on the ice, and the blatant knee-on-knee on Kerfoot.
How was that cross check not targeting the head of an unsuspecting player? That should be a suspension. Alas, he doesn’t play for the Leafs so not even a review.

I remember how much the leafs got dunked on when Laine got the hat trick in OT against us back in their rookie years.

Well, Matthews dunking on them for his 50th while Laine isn’t even in the organization is way more satisfying.

Great night and a big win for the team. It was really satisfying that they didn't crumble after the shaky start.

I think it was also generous of Auston to score in the empty net so the main board would have something to talk about. Sharing is caring after all.

Full props to the "Leafs fan" Stamkos4Life on the main board going around arguing with "insecure" Leafs fans that Matthews still isn't as good as they think he is and how he's still not a top-3 player in the league.

Laine's tenure in the Peg was so fitting for that trainwreck of an organization.

Jets learn a valuable lesson in humility last night. Even though we went down early in this contest and largely looked terrible in that first frame, I just had a gut feeling that the boys would bounce back in that one.

Happy to see Kallgren steady the ship after 3 saveable goals. He wasn't great by any means, but he was good enough to give us a chance. For as bad as the GA were, I thought he made a handful of really sharp saves that could have easily found their way into the back of the cage. Who knows how this game shakes out if Ehlers buries in that first period. Beautiful read and kick out by Erik there.

Felt like there was this overwhelming desire to get Matty his 50th that it almost took away from the game plan a bit. those 1st 2 PP's were so hard to watch. Everyone in the world knew where that puck was going, Mo passing up an open shot from 10 feet out to try and force feed Matthews the puck was easily the worst.

After that terrible 1st we were just the better team in every aspect. I am probably more happy that the Jets don't get those valuable points vs. us getting them. They should have known better not to give any team, let alone a top team in the NHL, bulletin board material from a win less than halfway through the season. Not suggesting the outcome would have been any different had they handled their December win with a bit more grace, but it certainly felt like a more important game than it needed to feel. After all this was a late March game between a non playoff team and a playoff team. The exact game we've had trouble getting into all season long.

Great win, keep it rolling fellas!

IS THERE ANYTHING BETTER THAN BEATING THE JETS FELLAS????
Beating the Habs Bruins and the Sabres in that order

William Nylander just set a career high in points (with 14-15 games to play) and people are still convinced Don Cherry was right.

:cf:
I think Ferraro nailed it during the broadcast last night. It's tough to complain about a guy putting up 30 goals/70 pts, but when you see him play like this you have to ask why he's not a 40 goal, 85-90 point player. The skillset is there, he needs to keep himself interested.

that said Willy still has lots of good will in my books for his playoff performance last year. He seems to be ramping up at the right time again.

Ferraro is a smart hockey man. He always gives honest unbiased insight, keeps it real.
