Lmao Dahlstrom had the best CF% and xGF% on the team. Did not expect that but good for him. Lily definitely helped carry him

Missed the game but saw the highlight. Most impressed that the Leafs got twice at many PP's as their opposition in a game  and 3 PP goals to boot, wow.

Happy for Matthews. He deserves it. Between injuries and COVID, he's been really screwed out of more 50-goal seasons. With that monkey off his back I wonder if he goes on a tear.

Also shoutout to Mikheyev. He seems to have finally gotten some composure on those breakaways he gets and is burying his chances. What a nice patient approach on that goal. Hoping the Leafs can re-sign him.

Jets deserve a big loss like this. That team has zero excuse for their place in the standings this season and I love it. Team is an absolute waste of time. Bring back Atlanta!

Seriously, if you took every Canadian criminal and sent them to Winnipeg for a year, they would all come back fully ****ing reformed.

Go Leafs Go!

Also I checked the box score and saw the kerfuffle at the end. What happened there? I was surprised that fights didn't happen earlier.

Can we officially start calling this "the Liljegren effect"?

I understand Dermott did great in a lot of these metrics too, but Liljegren is doing a lot better in them and in my eye test - Liljegren looks so much cleaner and better than Dermott ever did.

Liljegren has matured by leaps and bounds the last 3 weeks, especially with Giordano coming on board.

A lot of people have slept on him for awhile. But I'm glad that he's starting to turn some heads.

Steady two way defensive game.. Good mobility... Poise .. Physical play.

Turning into a nice top 4 defender. When do we start calling him Lilyhammer?

Some idiot charged Lilly after they dropped the puck after Matthews goal. That idiot then tasted some Clifford fists. A little later they gave Simmonds a misconduct along with Lowry when it was clear they'd fight after the puck was dropped. Happened last game too, saving Jets from a beating at Wayne's hands.

Nothing like losing to the Leafs to kill your playoff hopes and dreams!

Or nothing like getting suspended in Game 1 to watch your team get swept from the press box either I guess

Hey Mark, you’ll do fookin nuthin!

The problem with Dermott is that he could never replicate his sheltered usage numbers when elevated into a top 4 role.

With Liljegren it doesn't seem to matter who he plays with or how much, the result is positive regardless. Just a good player who makes life easier on his partners.

Adjust for era all you like, but boy, 50 in 39 games.. geez eh?

Austin is a legit 70 threat, maybe, maybe not but is anyone comfortable saying no way?

had to work tonight . watching the game on repeat on one of those things"stream" had to go through the gdt just for the hot takes.

kalle proving he bends but doesn't break. all you can ask is he has won more then he lost.

Great game. Hats off to AM, such a treat to watch this guy play hockey and develop before our eyes.

Willy, good game.

Liljegren. Man I feel like this kid has grown leaps and bounds over just the last month. He’s got it all. Really liking his game.

Jets and fans. LOL. I don’t know what’s more sad…the fact that you know the most relevance you have is when you’re versus the Leafs, or the fact that you’re proud of it.

Go Leafs Go!!

After the first two goals went in against Kallgren, I figured it was going to be another long night against a mediocre team. I am glad I was wrong because from the second period onward, Toronto didn't let off one single bit.

I remember the overly celebratory videos that were being churned out by Winnipeg when they beat the Leafs four months ago. I remember marking this date on my calendar. I knew retribution would be in order. Only this time, the videos of celebrations came from the Leafs locker room. Not only did Toronto get their revenge, but they served that dish of revenge with a pile of whipped cream and 50 cherries on top with Matthews getting his 50th goal against the Jets on home ice in 62 games.

The haters can have their, "Matthews won't show up in the first round. The Leafs will be golfing in May.", but on that night, I had my celebratory chuckles at the expense of a mediocre Jets team. A Jets team trying to scratch and claw for a playoff spot. All of their hopes, dreams and desires of a playoff berth are now further away thanks to the Leafs.

Hearing the Jets fans all day today yap about how their team was going to school Toronto. How their team is so much better than ours. It's f**king music to my ears to hear them whine about the refs in this game. Accusing the Leafs of having the refs in their pocket all the time, when reality is that Toronto receives some of the fewest powerplay opportunities of all teams over the last 5-6 seasons.

I will never forget this game. The fact that this team can make me love them one week and hate them the next is an odd, but quite exhilarating feeling to experience. I used to watch Football, Basketball, Baseball, every thing. However, for the last 20 years, it's been nothing but the Leafs. I honestly could care less about any other sport. I love my hockey, I love my Leafs, I love this forum, I love debating, I love talking smack when it's warranted, I love whining when my time does piss poorly, I love overreacting whenever the Leafs give up a bad goal... it means that I'm emotionally invested in this team, I'm that passionate enough to care. That feeling is great, being a hockey fan, not much else is better in terms of entertainment, not for me at least.

Congrats to Matthews and his 50th goal, it's been impressive watching him over these last six seasons. I really hope he gets to experience much more in the playoffs.

Here's hoping.
