I guess they think Muzz is our tough guy and can sit down Ilya. I'd rather have two tough guys.
Boosh has been solid but he's clearly our 6th best out of the guys who were playing.

Holl/Boosh should be 6/7 if Muzzin can return to form.

I've really liked Lybushkin's play. I've also been hard on Holl. However I have to give credit ... Holl has been playing well for a while now.

If Lyb has to come out instead of Liljegren then that's alright. It shows the progress that he has made. Also having him and Gio as your 3rd pair is amazing.

It's like the Leafs defense is good or something now and has options. In all seriousness though... picking up Lyb and Gio has solidified this D as well as the big steps taken by Lilly and Sandin.

I hope it works out. This will be a tough challenge for a returning Muzzin. The back to back might have made it an easier decision with Lybushkins style and recent neck issue, I don't know.

What I do know is that Bush brings a mandatory team element on D that opposition teams hate. Him being out encourages the opposition to play heavier and the crease gets cramped.

Please don't sit Liljegren or put Muzzin/Holl back together.

Either:

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Liljegren
Gio-Holl

or

Rielly-Brodie
Gio-Liljegren
Muzzin-Boosh
Let's see how they look with a healthy Muzz before we say they shouldn't be together. They've been a great pair in the past taking on the toughest comp/dzs.

I'm okay with Boosh sitting. My fear was Liljegren coming out and thankfully that's not the case.

Also I'm happy that Rielly-Brodie are back together

Not the decision i would’ve made but just glad it’s not Liljegren.

Lyubushkin and Holl have both been good as of late. As I said earlier, no right decision between them

Understandable sitting Boosh, you want a chance to see if Muzzin - Holl bounces back.

If it does, you get back your second pair from last year while essentially adding another second pair in Gio-Liljergen

Thank you for your sanity Sheldon.

Game 1 makes me think Liljegren is ahead come playoffs. Which... thank f***.

It's pretty clear Holl was never being taken out based on his minutes, so I'm not sure why anyone thinks it's not between Liljegren & Bush come playoff time, and Liljegren >>>>> Bush for 3rd pairing duties.

Muzzin - Holl has been terrible all year. Muzzin hasnt played in a month. Dont like the decision.

I had my doubts they would keep Liljegren in the line up. Good to see they’re keeping him in the top 6.

He's at the point where, what more could he possibly have done to stay in the lineup?

He's getting points 5 on 5, dominating his matchups defensively, and moving the puck well / not taking penalties.

You can't take out a guy playing that well.

You have to think Florida's D would be being questioned quite a bit if they were in a bigger market.

Only in Toronto.

Heh the cover of the Sun today was questioning if Leafs' D was good enough to compete with Florida's.
